Default Removing the factory plate mount but keeping turn signals

I want to remove the bulky plate mount but keep the turn signals. I read a few posts on different sites that recommended cutting it off with a dremal tool. Any advice on this?

I cleaned mine up soon as I got the bike home.
Just place the plate as high up as possible and cut off the excess, I used a small angle grinder with a thin cutoff wheel.
Wear eye protection for bits of plastic flying.
I then removed the reflector and sectioned it till it fit in the smaller vacant spot above the plate.
To easy!

I did the same thing as Motorbikerx. You could probably do the same thing, just cut higher up and not leave anyplace for the plate.
