Default Greetings!

Hello everyone! This is my first post to the forum. I am new to this forum but not to forums in general.
Friday I bought my first victory and brought her home, a beautiful 2000 V92. I bought it knowing it had issues and the PO was not a mechanic or real clear on the problems. He is a close friend of mine but was pretty unable to answer any of my questions. I have been browsing the threads here looking for info on getting this bike back on the road. I have been subscribed to Rylans youtube page since i first started looking at this bike. I have found the members here so far helpful and friendly so here goes! I am going to be excited to share this journey with you guys!
I am a very experienced Aviation Maintenance Tech, so I am hoping everything I have learned along the way will help me with this project but bear with me as I get up to speed in the cruiser world!
I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say!

You might want to ask about one subject at a time, so you get more focused replies. Throwing all your questions out at once is like trying to spread manure in a windstorm.

Sound advice, I'll take it.

Welcome to the forum.
I love my Vision but it has the 106/6 engine in it. It is my understanding that early Vics had two what you might all issues. First one is easy, the throttle bodies required frequent cleaning but people like Witchdoctors have videos that show how to do that and it looks easy. The second is not so easy. There were far more transmission problems than you should expect from any machine and repair was expensive until about the 2002 or 2003 model years when a redesigned tranny stopped that.

Present ride - 2013 Victory Vision, black, ATW at +3, Lloydz air filter and adjustable intake, PC5, 30,xxx miles

Yeah I have read that here. The bike has a little over 3000 miles on the odometer, but it also has the multiplier plugged in on the right hand side. I read that it will start over the miles when you add it. The bike has supposedly had many mods done to it that the PO could not remember them all. He is trying to get in touch with the guy that built the bike to get me in the right direction. First order of business was a weak battery. I am gonna try to get a new one this Thursday and see if that fixes the no start condition. The voltmeter says 11.2 volts, even after a charge. While I am at it, I have seen that they are very persnickety about having good connections and proper grounds. The frame is powdercoated, and it looks like the powdercoat is under the main chassis ground below the battery. I have a busy winter ahead of me...

I'm also new to Vic Forums. Very good advice about getting information about problems that can pop up. Brings to mind about a manure spreader is the only piece of machinery that kicks the crap out of itself.

And you never want to use a manure spreader in a wind storm.
