Other than the obvious answer, getting out to ride!
I just picked up an '06 Jackpot. It has a removable windshield that I will likely take off. It already has Arlen Ness pipes and has supposedly been tuned for the pipes. So, any other suggestions?
About me: I'm both a firefighter and a network systems administrator. I've been a volunteer FF and full time IT worker for years, but am currently in the final steps of being a full time FF and part time IT worker. Maybe a little backwards for the wallet, but the happiness quotient should improve exponentially. This is my second bike, and first cruiser. I can't wait for the weather to break enough to out in some good rides. Anyway, I look forward to tapping the knowledge of some of you more experienced Victory guys!
Check brakes, battery, change oil, air filter, clean throttle body, check air pressure, change plugs. Then ride. Doing all this will make you aware of any safety issues with bike. I have an 06 too. Great bike lots of fun.
