Default New to Victory and the forums

Hello all,

I joined the forums to read up on mods and to see what others are dong to their bikes, all in all to get as much info on my bike as possible.
I bought a new 2012 sunset red and silver Cross Country in Georgia 18 Feb 13. Happy to say with over 1000 miles on it now I made the right choice. So far there are only a few mods that I think my bike needs. I have already modified the exhaust with Thrush glass packs and plan to upgrade the intake and fuel management system in due time. these bikes donít need much but on my short list would be the IPod kit, handlebars, grips, mirrors, lowering link and possibly some LEDís.
Have any of you seen the kuryakyn Bat Lashes for the batwing fairings? Think those might look good on my bike, hoping kuryakyn makes them for the Victoryís soon.

Take it easy,

Mojo, I envy you for where you live. We have friends who live in Suches and have been there a few times - what fabulous roads you have there. One does not need to go to the Dragon, just ride Northern Georgia. And you have a great bike for doing that, too. But why are you lowering it and limiting the lean angle for those glorious twisties?

RIZC,

Thanks for the reply. I bought the bike in Georgia but live in Southern Maryland. Put 667 miles on the bike getting it back home. Guess I should update my info. I don’t really want to mess with the cornering ability but I feel as though the bike sits a bit too high. I can plant my feet down flat but would like just a bit more bend in my knees, an inch at tops. I figure I can get the adjustable type and lower it just enough.

If the saddle isn't perfect for you, you might consider having it customized and in the process, lower and narrow it a bit. Riding boots with thick soles really helps too. Anything to avoid lowering the suspension.

Love the Red and Silver Cross Country Black was all I could get in the left over 2012 department .. I have a short inseam myself but the suspension is the last way would look to lower it .. I love the shorter seat height but better lean angle on the XC .. Not the main reason switched from an ultra but definitely part of the influence..

Gator Joe,

Thanks for the info. I almost bought a black 2012 CC too at the local dealer but it was sold the day before I stopped in. I hadn’t seen a red and silver one in person and was really pleased when I actually went to pick it up. Funny how things work out.

When I was just looking, I was zeroing in on a black XR. On the test ride, the escort was riding a Midnight Cherry Vision. (Longish ride on twisty backroads) Halfway through the ride, we stopped for a break and I saw the sun playing on that red paint loaded with gold metalflake, making it look like Candyapple Red. No way was I going to go with black! I am so happy I got the red and it gets a ton of compliments wherever I go.
