Default It's a crying shame.

Hi All, I purchased a used Kingpin back in early December 2016. I Found out it had two recalls. I Did not take it to dealer immediately because I wanted to RIDE. It had been 25 years since I had a street bike and I wanted to get some air in my face. Unfortunately it developed issues with front brake system preventing me from riding it. During my down time Polaris announced discontinuation of Victory. However, I was told their were aftermarket parts available. I had to purchase a used front brake master cylinder which I purchased online through ebay from a salvage yard located in Florida. Then I purchased an after market front Rotor through "Victoryonly.com".
I finally repaired it and was ready to send to local dealer ( 40 miles away ) only to find that they cut all ties to Polaris and would not touch my bike. Contacted the next closest dealer ( 70 miles away ) and they were going to do the recall. The weather was bad during this period. ( flash flooding, Snow etc.). Once weather improved I called that dealer. Everything was good to go. Unfortunately my work was hectic and I could not get away. Called the following Monday only to hear they closed their doors on the Tuesday after I spoke to the General Manager just the previous Monday. I then called the next closest dealer (100 miles away ). They still had their bike inventory. Polaris had not arrived to pick up anything. I went through the process giving them my information and they responded by saying they would not honor the recall due to the existing circumstance with Polaris.
By now I am frustrated to say the least. I then called Polaris corporate office 1 888-704-5290. I was on the phone with a lady for over an hour. It was apparent that their data base had not been updated because she referred me to the three dealers that I've already contacted. She informed me that she herself would research this and return my call once she found someone available. She said she would open up a claim for me and call me back. Well the next day I was curious to see if they had any luck locating a dealer that would do my recall so I called them back. I found out that a claim had not been created for my issue. This time the person I had on the phone immediately opened up a case for me and shared the case number with me. Once again she started with all the dealers locations that were closest to me. I explained the situation regarding them. After over an hour she began giving me phone numbers to any and all the dealers she had listed for Polaris. Mind you now we are 100 miles or more to each location. I finally touched base with one location located way down in Southern Cali.. They said they would do it and as far as they know they will continue to service any and all Victory Motorcycles even after their inventory is pulled. It so happened they had two of the three items in stock to do the recall. Now it's just to take the time off from work to get it down to them. I hope you guys keep this Forum open even though Victory Mfg. is dead. One other source of information regarding Victory can be found on a YOU TUBE channel called "Living off the slab" who are Victory die hardz.
Thank you guys for this Forum I hope it stays alive for all of us Victory owners out here. Be safe, HAVE FUN!!!!

To bad you didn't say what year or where is CA. you are
Not trying to be mean but now that Vic has gone by the way side your going to have to be more specific
Say maybe look on the net find out what the recalls were and see if you can do them your self.
Am sure Arlen Ness would help.

You can find your shop manual here. If it doesn't load all the way click on NAME

Welcome to the forum.
Victory was often not very good at honoring their warranty and achieving customer satisfaction on difficult bikes before they went under, at least that was my experience on the two bike my wife and I own. (14 xc8b, 14xr8b) I don't find what you posted at all surprising. It fits well with my own experiences.

I'd suggest you make it a real priority to take advantage of any help offered from that dealer. If they need more parts you could be without a ride for a long time so I would start soon and I would do whatever I could to assist them in getting your bike road worthy.

Polaris has always been at times very slow about getting spares to the dealers when Victory products were still in production. It was often hit or miss. Now that Vic is an orphaned child it will most likely be worse if that is possible.

A good source of parts is Paulie who frequents this forum, see this thread: https://www.victoryforums.com/32-vict...cessories.html
Plus you can always ask people to call their local still existing dealers to check for something and I am sure some will respond. There are some really good hearted people on this forum. With some foot work on your part you might be able to help that dealer get your bike back to you sooner than later if he is missing some of the stuff necessary to get her done.

Good to have you and good luck.

I tried your mediafire link but it wouldn't connect. I also tried the website directly, it timed out. I then googled "does mediafire exist?" The consensus was that if it did it shouldn't. Are these manuals located anywhere else? I would be looking for an XCT.

I'm confused. If there was a recall, why did you have to purchase used or aftermarket parts? A recall should provide any necessary parts free of charge.

To check for recalls. Here's the URL so you can check your VIN.

I have a 2002, Kingpin.
