Cool Introduction

Hello all! I'm hoping to be new to Victory bikes soon and evidently just in time.

I have a favor to ask (and I'll ask in the Cross Country forum when I can)... There's a Cross Country on eBay that I'd really like if it's in good shape. But it's in Orlando and I'm in Seattle.

I'm hoping to find someone near Orlando to check the bike out and advise me.


About me: I've been riding since 1991, always on a Honda Hawk GT. Got my first bike, rode it around Santa Cruz, Ca for years then moved to Seattle and sold it. Hated selling it, wanted it back. Watched for another one for years, kids grew up, wife let me get one so I got a blue Hawk (mine was Red). Then I found mine for sale, yes, 21 years after I sold it, I bought it back. It's about to complete its restoration.

Anyway, if you are in the Orlando area or can advise me, please reach out.

How much you thinking of spending on a used one? You can get great deals on new ones if you check around. I know in the Phx area I seen a brand new Octane for $7500, not bad. I know you said you wanted a XC, you might give Kellys in Mesa, Az. a call. It might be worth it. Can not hurt to look around, new bike loans have lower interest rates than used bike loans. Some times a new payment can be a few dollars more a month(or the same) as a used bike loan. ..... Now if you are paying cash, great! Good for you. What ever you get enjoy the new ride and welcome to the forum.

There's a 2013 Cross Country Tour with 9000 miles and lots of extras for $12,000. A new Cross Country (doesn't have the trunk or any of the extras) for $16,500. Either would cost $1000 or so shipping I presume.

Brand new, the 2013 would've been $3,000 more than the new one, and is $4,500 cheaper now. So "save" $7500 or so if I'm doing disingenuous math.

If your second hand bike has at least the performance system fitted (exhaust, air filter, remap) you are another $2,000 ahead. But, concur with previous post, make a few local dealer phone calls first. Lastly, recommend fly out, ride back. I did it for one of my bikes in Australia and really got to know the bike on the way home.

Oooo... I'd love a long bike trip in Australia!

Thanks for the reply. The accessories are the trunk, armrests, lowers and handlebar/mirror updates.

This bike has 9,000 miles now. If I drove it home, it'd have 12,000 when I got home. As much as I'd love to take it for a long-ish drive, three thousand miles is a bit beyond what I can afford off work.

Welcome to the forum. I'd help you out, but currently, I am really screwed up. I can't walk. My bike was destroyed and I was nearly killed in a hit and run accident. I'm about two to two and a half hours from Orlando. Not doing any of us any good since I can't walk. Sorry.

Oh my goodness. Horrible, but glad you survived. Bikes can be replaced.

You are aware that there are several "types" of Cross Country motorcycles? There is the base Cross Country, which updates into two "bagger" models the Magnum and Magnum X1. Then there is the Cross Country Tour, which takes the base CC and adds the trunk, lower fairings, tour windshield, heated grips and seat.

Yes, thanks. I don't understand all the specific differences, but enough to know the main addition of the Tour is the trunk. This bike is a non-Tour CC with the trunk as an add-on.

Locally there's a non-tour CC base band new for $4500 more.
