Default Really?

Geeze, seems like a lot of hoops to jump through to get going on this site. Is it all really necessary?

Welcome to the forum.

If you had seen how many spam posts used to show up, you would understand the need to make sure you're not a bot.

You should be able to post freely now.

Go the Range Rover Evoque forum and you will understand in about a minute why there are hoops. The spam at that forum is unreal. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum! About the minimum post restiction the others are correct in that it minimizes spam and on top of that it keeps the bots at bay. There are a couple of quirks but it is worth the minor hassles to have a forum that draws in enough people with brains and good ideas that they are willing to share. The main purpose of most forums is to allow people to help othe people and this forum excells at that!
