Default 2006 Victory Vegas Jackpot

Wanted to ask if any Jackpot owners have ever had a fuel pump issue?
My bike is garage kept and less then 6000 miles on it. I ride just short trips here and there.
Went to ride one weekend and bike would not start, diagnosed a definite fuel issue. Took tank off and removed fuel pump. Inside my tank were chunks of rubber that deteriorated off the fuel pump body.
New pump runs $600.00-$700.00 and its still the same pump for replacement?? Sent my fuel pump to The Vic shop in Iowa for rebuild at a much lower price and the remaining rubber was removed.
Harley fuel pumps do not have a rubber coating, cars do not have it either. Polaris customer relations is almost worthless, they keep saying call the dealer and they have the dealer call the Tech. who doesn't have an answer either???
Bottom line is I'm stuck paying for a repair on a inferior part, that should have never been used in the first place. Can anyone help me with a solution? I strongly feel Polaris should pay for the repair and bikes with this particular fuel pump, should get recalled!!

Unfortunately you have a 7 or 8 year old motorcycle that rarely gets ridden.Today's fuels don't age well. And that ethanol is hard on rubber.
I would be upset too, but I doubt you will get them to do anything about it. I think you have already taken the appropriate action.
