Default New Victory Owner

Just picked up an 05 Hammer on Wednesday and i have been lurking around the forums all week. I picked up a bit of a neglected bike that is going to need some work to get her on the road again. Couldn't pass up the deal though.

Anyways...just a bit about myself, i'm active duty Navy, been in almost 12 years. Big into hunting during the winter and now riding again in the summer. First Victory i have owned, and the first cruiser at that as well. Looking forward to getting the bike on the road and seeing how she rides.

The answer lies here: https://www.victoryforums.com/showpos...61&postcount=1. Since you've got your 2nd post in here, the restriction is now gone, and you have access to the other forums.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Thanks fellas.

Well, she needs a lot actually. I have to fit new tires on it to start. The bike has been sitting outside for a long time, so lots of cosmetic work has to be done, but that i can do over time. The big thing is i need to drain, clean and reline the gas tank. I also need a new gas cap since the locking mechanism is broke on this one. The front fork seals need to be replaced, which i am still trying to figure out exactly what kit to buy since it has the Marzochi forks. The dealer wants $136 for the kit and says i need two...from some digging i have heard i only need 1 kit, and that kit has more in it than i really need to do the forks.

Anyways...also need to find a new choke adjustment because i just noticed last night that the piece on the left controls is broken off. I need to replace a turn signal, but thought about doing the led signals i saw in the Hammer forum.

Like i said...she needs a lot, but i paid $4k for the bike and it only has 3200 miles on it. Couldn't pass up the deal!
