Talking Are you as excited as I am? New member - 04 Vegas

So, I'm new to this world and so far I'm pretty sure that my new bike, this forum and all of the aftermarket world is going to become an obsession.

After looking around at various cruisers, I thought I was dead set on a V-Rod, until I sat on one. It felt like a toy. Riding one felt like a toy with a lot of speed. So, then I thought I was going to get a Sportster...So glad I didn't! I found a random thread while researching cruisers that talked about how great and dependable Victory bikes are. As I was trying to find a Harley, I came across my 2004 Victory Vegas in a Harley Clearance Center in Kansas City, MO. I got it out the door for $6,100. There is no way I'd get as good of a Harley for that, so I snatched it up!

So far, I love it. And I'm spending many hours researching upgrades I can do.

What I want to do:
  • Chrome swingarms
  • Chrome belt wheel
  • Chrome controls
  • 2" or 4" forward control extensions
  • Switchblade foot pegs
  • Highway pegs mounted to frame
  • New mirrors (teardrop or oval? what do you think?)
  • New turning signals, bullet on front, what on back?
  • Side mount chrome license plate

This photo is the reason why I love riding...my first road trip on my new Victory!

If you have any ideas on how to do this inexpensively or the best place to get any of these items, please let me know!

Welcome to the Victory Forums.

A few helpful pointers,
  • Please take the time to read the “Sticky” threads in the “Victory Forums Rules and New Members Introductions” forum. This will help you out a LOT with the Victory Forums.

  • The Search feature is your friend! You will find the answers to a lot of your questions by using it.

  • If you are asking questions that are of a technical/mechanical/electrical/performance nature, please place them in the “Victory Tech and Performance” forum. This will speed up a response. Placing them in the model specific forum can delay a response.

Please add the year and model of your bike to your signature, so we know how to help when you ask a question!

Welcome from Ohio! I just got a Kingpin myself, and I think you will have a lot of fun making the bike uniquely yours. I have had the best luck finding parts on Ebay and Craigslist myself, but you need to know what you are looking for. I only buy brands that I know of, and have some idea of the value. If it is not at least 50% off retail, I just go buy new. Good luck, and have fun.

Ah, good tips! I've found myself searching for products in a similar way. Thanks for the reassurance that I'm barking down the right path!
