Default hello from melbourne, australia..very targetted first post..

hi all, excuse me if im being a bit forward, but i only joined to get the answers i am after regarding the possibilities of the Victory range.

basically i am not familiar with victory's after market offerings, and dont have a victory, but i am planning a bike which is to be customised purely using bolt ons- no chopping or making unreversible changes.

the reason i want to do this is that the sale of custom bikes here is a bit tricky, and our road laws make u pay for the roadworthy certification whenever a vehicle is sold, and if it isnt bone stock, that can get expensive and can be, depending on who does the certifying, a royal pain in the bu**.

anyways, the idea is that i need to be able to revert back to stock, when i decide to sell the bike.

in the mean time im wanting to customise the bike into a "gangster" theme..

im researching my options from all the bikes out there, and also have had a fully custom version priced..

ive asked the same questions at the yamaha roadstar forums, and i know i can do this with a harley...

i only just realised that the victory high ball might be another option i can do this kind of styling with...my criyteria being a reasonably large engine, v-twin...so its come down to pretty much these 3 bikes.

what i want to know is if this kind of styling is possible qwith the high ball?

i haev done a search and havent found anything really..

in particular, i'd want to see the standard HD deluxe style headlight and driving lights, a slammed rear, and a longer, gangster style front fender... but i havent seen any victory done like that yet...

the great thing about the victory is that its priced 1/3 less than the HD, and the high ball already has the ape hangers, and layout that is the same as the gangster type styling im looking at.

to get the yamaha there, theres a bit more work, plus the yamaha generates less power and torque..

the HD is also less power... and frankly, i dont want to pay for a name.

ive attached a couple of images to give u guys an idea of what look im after- i really ride for the fun of customising and cruising on a machine that ive put thought and work into..its not about whizzing around corners for me..so even though the extra power and torque is nice, its not a defining characteristic.

i hope the members here can give me some advice and comments.

my main issue really is the headlight...nothing says gangster like the right headlight..and, IMO, the victory doesnt have it..

,

tim

ps. i cant seem to find a way to attach an image- might be due to this being my first post..so heres a couple of links instead.

Sounds like you want to find yourself a used Kingpin and put some apes on it. Check out the "Show Off Your Kingpin" thread in the Kingpin folder and see if there's anything in there similar to what you're looking for.

The Highball would seem to give you 90% of what you are looking for out of the box.
So go for it.
Mate I ride a Judge here in Sydney and they are excellent bikes to ride, attract a lot of attention, which is one of your goals.
Canvassing opinions on forums is all very well, but the most important thing is to go for a test ride and see what you think.

Def sounds like a Kingpin or a Boardwalk would suite your needs.

thanks for the replies. i checked out the kingpin...not a fan of the fenders they have on them...

but the boardwalk is just about right i think...

where do i find out what can fit these bikes?

i want to fit a headlight assy similar to that fitted to the harley heritage softail classic...

and either the heritage front fender, or a fender from an indian chief..

has anyone done such mods to their victory's?

the thing i liked about the highball was that it had the legal apes already on it- so there would be no hassles regarding height compliance...

im still yet to find someone who has slammed the rear, and fitted a larger front fender...

anyone know of where to look?

thanks again,

tim
