Default Newb from CA

Greetings all my fellow Vicsters.... Found this place and joined here to try and locate some well needed parts to get my vic back on the road. Ive been riding 2 wheels since... well Im old and it seems like forever.... since I was 7. Came from the HD world and found my way to the 'dark side' when I bought a new 2011 XC and never looked back.

End of last year I crashed that beautiful bike and am now putting it back together. Ive decided to go back with it a little different than what the original design was because the platform is perfect for customizing. More to come on that.

Most of my riding has been all around the western US, I was born and raised mostly in CA and grew up on the Pacific coast mountain roads, they were my training grounds in my younger days. I live in Sacramento now and the High Sierras are my backyard. I also lived in OR for 10 years and rode all over the Pacific NW. Great area too. I have ventured as far south as AZ, NM and east as far as Sturgis. Would like to get alot more riding into the southeast and the northeastern regions as time permits.

Anyways... hope to bring my project along here live and get some good input from ya'll and get this bike back on the road!

Welcome to the forum ptc.
The 2 lanes in the Sierras are some of the best riding roads around if you enjoy the challenges of the twisties. I have watched video of things like the Dragon and remember driving in the Sierras under much tighter control than I would need there. If you do come east the Blue ridge parkway is a very nice scenic route and I can recommend the Pig Trail, I know a funny name, in Arkansas as a good scenic and tight riding path.

Thank You... and yes the twisties are my preferred route to get just about anyplace. I'll even to goat roads when needed! Much preferred to slabbin' it anytime.

CA roads have alot to offer twisty enthusiasts in both the north and the south and are endless! The Pashnit site I mentioned actually documents many of those roads for those of you that have never seen it.
