If you are looking at the CCT, you may also want to test ride a Vision. Both are long distance touring bikes but the Vision is better equipped for those low winter temperatures. With the lower wind deflectors added to my Vision I ride down to around 15 or 20F. Below 15F I just can't get it to start. It does take winter riding gear but I figure I get an added 3 months of daily riding per year and have ridden every month since 2008, but not every day. This February I only got in 10 riding days between extreme low temperatures and snow/ice on the roads. The price of the lower wind deflectors and the jacket is nothing compared to the price of the bike when it comes to adding 3 months of full time riding to my "season" on a bike that cost around 20k.
