Default Indian Engine Debut - March 9, 2013

Hopefully this tease will have more substance than tease... If it's a good one it will certainly be a milestone in Indian M/C history.

New Indian Motorcycle Engine Revealed To The Public March 9th In Daytona Beach During Bike week

Published by Cyril Huze February 19th, 2013 in Builders, Editorial and Events.
The new Indian Motorcycle engine that will power the next generation of Indian Motorcycle models will be revealed during Daytona Beach Bike Week in less than a month. It will happen Saturday March 9th at 9 pm Eastern Time at Dirty Harry’s bar on Main Street in Daytona Beach.
It will be the first place that the public can see and hear the actual engine that has been in constant development from a blank sheet of paper for the past two years. I will be on location to cover the event, and for those not present in Daytona I will upload the first pictures and all the specs. It’s an exciting time in the history of the brand, and I know that you are all impatient to find out how Indian designers and engineers were able to both respect the brand history while celebrating its great future under Polaris Industries stewardship.

No way. Polaris wanted Indian for a long time. There's no way they do a bird doo-doo with this, given the sustained effort they've shown to build reliable and powerful engines for Victory from day one.

Victory was Polaris' first motorcycle emblem, and Indian will be its crown jewel.

Now you're dreaming! Although, a Victory and Indian dealer network might not be as far fetched as it might seem. Who knows, hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.

I'm guessing its going to be a push rod motor with not much horse power. I think the bike is going to be over priced. Its going to be a small selling bike even tho Polaris is looking for 1400 dealers.
I can't see any H-D rider or even a true Victory rider switching.
I think its a shame that Polaris doesn't do more to develop the Victory.

Please add your state and model of bike you have. Click user CP @ top of page and then far left click edit signature. Thanks

I think it's going to be something closer to the 152cu Ilmor Viper engine (if not actually it). That puppy is SWEET!!! I saw it last year @ A-Max drag strip. It can be a drag or a long-duration engine. Ilmor has been putting the engines in Formula boats for YEARS and they would be a PERFECT fit IMHO for the new Indian bike. Here's a link.

My dealer now carries a handful of tee shirts and a couple of hats. We are only a few boots and bandannas from having our very own boutique!
