Yeah, I know, you just got it running great with the new cams. No way are you jumping over to Indian unless you were adding to your stable. I get the feeling you could afford to do that if you really wanted to; especially if the Vic was paid for.

I understand where you're coming from with the Indian's. Heck, I liked them a lot and often thought about selling both my Vic's to get on one but then they dropped Victory. After the shock wore off I decided no more Polaris products for one simple reason; no way to know or have confidence they will be in business 5 minutes after I bought one of their products unless it was one of their off road rigs. That part of Polaris will stay in business for sure unless Polaris itself folded. I think they do a pretty good business with snowmobiles up North but down here we rarely hear about 'em.

As for Indian, I really like what they are doing, the models they are coming out with or improving are checking my boxes. I like where they are going and when it comes time for another bike there's a very good chance it'll be an Indian.
I have been a fan of Indian since they came out, but have not ridden one. Sometime this summer I plan rent a Chieftain from Pony Powersports in Columbus, OH and see how it fits. At my age comfort is a priority. I did test a Scout in Walton, KY last day before Thanksgiving and was blown away by how it handled and the smooth power. It was a low milage 2016 with the bags and shield. I liked it so much I wanted to make it my county cruiser. It was priced at 9500 and I said I will take it. They did not offer me enough to trade in my Honda Shadow Ace Tourer ( Also have a 97 Valkyrie Tourer ) which I pretty much knew they would not. I offered to give them 1k cash that was in my pocket and I would be back black Friday with the cash balance. They introduced me to their Sales Mgr. He said he had been on the job for 2 days and the previous sales mgr. should have priced it higher. So even though it was on cycle trader for 9.5k he wanted 12.5 k. I looked again this past May and they still had that same Scout at the higher price. Needless to say that is no way to do business. Shame on You CCM of Walton, KY.

I figure Polaris will shove Injuns the way they did Vics...out of the market. Their parts and service sucked when Vic was alive, no reason to think they are any better.

Now with the same old color scheme change up year to year makes the bikes less desirable to me. Wonder if they ever really fixed the clacking issues?

For that kind of cash I'll go back to HD first.

A blacked out bike with a chrome exhaust. But they'll sell you a blacked out exhaust as an option. Yup, I see what they did there.

The Springfield is the only Polaris Indian I like. Except for the stock handlebars which I find absolutely awful. The apes are nice though. And I'm glad to see them using a more standard front fender on some of the new models.

But is there a CF option on these yet? Carbon Fiber? No, Clacker Free.

I did help Polaris empty their warehouse of some of their dreaded Victory accessories recently. But seriously Polaris, no new Polaris bike for me in the forceable future. Thanks, but no thanks.

I didn't know they had anything in Walton! I grew up near there and that was all woods and farms when I left 20 years ago! There was some awesome riding up there. It seems the area has grown leaps and bounds since then.

@ForestGiant Sorry to hear the dealer pulled that crap I live smack in the middle between two Indian dealers, one 40mi north, the other 40mi south. I've been to both for demo days or visiting. Can't say I've ever been treated better at any other MC dealers, both have been very cordial, non-pressuring and the owners \ sales people take time to shoot the breeze and talk bikes. If I ever do purchase an Indian I'd have a hard time deciding which one to use.

Of course indians handle good cause they have new tires on them. Remember when you put on new tires how great the ride was.
I like the looks of the motor and that's the start and end of it for me

It really is a good looking engine. They did a good job of keeping the old engine look with new engine tech built-in.

Uh Oh... looks like Indian's days could be numbered. They are looking at buying Ducati which means they will soon forget about Indian.

The Short List To Buy Ducati Would Include Polaris And Benetton

If Polaris buys Ducati then Indian’s days are numbered. It will just be a repeat of when they bought Indian then later dropped Victory. In the eyes of Polaris the bottom line is all that counts. Whichever one makes them money is the one they stick with. They have no sense of loyalty to their customers or fan base; only the bottom line numbers.

Default Toooo much money

Personally I really doubt Polaris will put out the money for Ducati. Maybe if they drop the three wheel car/bike. But I bet the still have contract with GM for engines so I bet they will not do that for a few more years.
