I am new here as far as posting. I have been reading this forum a great deal. What a knowledgeable bunch of folks.

I put a deposit on my Indian Chieftain a while ago and am expecting to take possession in a few weeks. I am looking forward to this.

I also enjoy this forum.

2014 Indian Motorcycle Models Delivery To Dealers

Published by Cyril Huze September 12th, 2013 in Builders and Editorial.
Several of you have commented regarding a delivery delay of the 2014 Indian models to the dealer to who they have given a deposit to confirm a Chief model order. I contacted Indian Motorcycle to have their comment. Below is the answer they gave me..
“We are still on track to start shipping new 2014 Indian models in September. Certainly there is a significant demand, not only as evidenced by a high deposit rate, but also in the increasing number of dealerships that are coming on line. We have launched a successful product, and as is the norm, customers (and dealers) want it now! We are committed to providing the best possible product and motorcycles will be released when we are satisfied that we are doing so. But, as stated, we are on track for shipments starting in September.” R. Pandya

Thank you BBob, there was a problem and the delivery time is pushed back 14 days according to the following:

"Indian Motorcycles and their new customers have to deal with several more weeks of wait, as the shipment of the 204 Chief and Chieftain bikes is delayed, Bikernet reports.

It looks like some of the final tests prior to actually starting shipping the bikes have triggered some last-minute chances to the assembly process.

According to the same source, a remedy has already been found and the change has already been implemented, but it still needs validation for a complete homologation of the bike. Unfortunately nobody seems to know what all this is about.

This mysterious change is reportedly being tested at the moment of writing, and the actualy delivery schedule was pushed towards the end of September, instead of this very week, as was originally expected."

As far as I am concerned as long as they get it right and I do not find out when I am on the road. I have waited a long time for this and a few more days is no big deal.
