In 2012 I organized a motorcycle trip to travel some of the great roads in Colorado. We were all blown away by not only the great scenic beauty of the area but we discovered that Colorado Highways are some of the finest for motorcycle riding enjoyment. I also discovered that we had only ridden a small fraction of the great riding roads that Colorado has to offer.
In 2015 some of us plan to return to Colorado and discover some new rides plus revisit some of the great roads we rode in 2012. You can see the complete detail of our planned trip at a website I created for this adventure:
This will be a 6 day ride traveling from the NE part of the state to the SW and back again. We have a lot of miles to cover each day but if we limit the amount of time we spend at each stop it will allow us to see a lot of great country along the way.
For those who have ridden these routes is there anything I should detour to see?
2013 Victory Cross Country Tour - Maplewood, Minnesota
A few random thoughts looking at your route-End of day 1 in Salida try Amicas for a hand crafted beer and a wood fire baked thin crust pizza. A lady I know owns a very nice recreational dispensary there if your so inclined to indulge while in Colorado. We always try & hit a roadside fruit stand around Palisade-your a bit early for peaches but they always have something good to put together for a roadside picnic. In Glenwood we usually stay at the Hotel Denver right across from the old train station-they have a good brewpub -if you want the best steak go down the street a few doors to Jucy Lucy's. Route looks good everything I can think of to add would take you way off course. Have fun
