Default Gauge upgrade?

Does anyone happen to know what it takes to put this gauge on a 2006 Hammer? It says it's for 2011 or newer but it just looks so clean I'd love to use this instead of the chrome idiot light panel.

And here's the link if that helps.

IMO I bet it would not be compatible w/your '06. I just installed the tach on my '07 JP ("old" style); simple plug and run. Should have put it on sooner. Our bikes simply don't have the same speedo features, hence [probably] not the same connectors/wiring. The newer Vics have a speedo "unlock" feature which allows a wider range of features displayed: http://www.victorymotorcycles.com/en...de/pid-2878478

Yeah I know it says it won't fit, but I can't imagine it'd be too difficult to do the swap. Hmmmmmmmm... Sounds like its time to take a trip to my local victory dealer and see what them there Victory specialists have to say (not that I don't believe you... I swear)

By no means do I think it can't be done, just that there would be quite a bit of wiring "issues" to be resolved. IIRC, the speedo on my '07 's wire harness is a 4 pin, the tach a 3 pin and a separate OD connection. I bet there are more wires for the newer speedos as they offer access to more functions. Be curious as to your findings as to what it would take for a conversion to the newer set up.

Default 2015 Hammer

Can someone confirm if the new Hammer single gauge has the extra features ie tach, second trip odometer etc, and if so whether this also requires the dealer to unlock for a fee? If there is an extra charge for an unlock on a new bike, this seems like a rip off to me.....

Default can bus

i recently read that the newer bikes use a can bus system, i am not very electrical but from reading it minimizes wiring. my 13 hammer has a single gauge with some items mentioned but the link you provided for $49 is only for the xtra features. a dealer can activate these for that cost.

Yes that's correct. If you have a single or double gauge the dealer is able to unlock features for you for a cost.

2011 and newer bikes have a totally different wiring loom,so I believe this will not be compatible with the older models but you can install the digital speedo like my old Vegas had.
