Default 2012 hammer tail laight LED ??

I want to install a better tail light- brighter one. It is LED. They say you have to have a converter to convert 3volts to 12volts for it. But if our 2012 tail light is already LED, do I need the converter ?

Is the 2012 stock LED from the factory ?

no you dont need it. The older Hammers had the 3 volt. yours is 12. I switched to the 15 led light and needed the converter.

YES!
the 2012 is already the multi LED one being sold as an upgrade for older model single dual stage LED bulb version that was used up to 2007.

The 3 volt single led was actually sold up to 2008. I converted mine to the 15 Led. also.

Tach- are you doing this before you sell? (or have I got that wrong???)

In any case, I have the LED strip that I bought in 2013- are the newer ones significantly brighter?
