Default Underdrive pulley and buell belt

Just purchased the buell 145 tooth belt for under drive. A friend just contacted me stating that he knows somebody, who also did this, with a 280 tire like I have. Apparently the belt brings the tire closer to the front of swing arm where it is narrower and under hard acceleration his tire is getting chewed up. Selling belt and stock back on.

I did prep for a 300 and I can't see where exactly I would be hitting if tire was closer due to belt. I'm guessing maybe raised brake line clip area was not ground down?

My question is how much further forward does this buell belt bring the wheel? I would have thought deduct 2 teeth off pulley and belt and it should be close?
