Floorboards?

When I bought my 2014 Victory Hammer 8 ball it came with nice custom foot pegs. While they look nice there is no rubber cushioning for comfort. I’ve been considering floorboards but I am concerned that I will lose some cornering ability while leaning through the turns (love the back roads!).
Has anybody out there put floorboards on a hammer 8 ball? Would the mini floorboards be worth the money?
On a different note, I just installed saddlebags (from US Saddlebags) and I just ordered a Corbin dual touring seat with an oval backrest. This is a huge investment for me and I can’t wait to get it!
I am hoping the Corbin seat lives up to all the hype that I’ve read about them. The OEM seat on the hammer leaves a lot to be desired for rides well over an hour long.
So if the Corbin does let my fat ass sit longer in the saddle I’d really like to treat my feet to some comfort too.

I haven't installed floorboards on a hammer, but I did have minis on my highball, and it did not effect my cornering ability. I rode that bike on the mild side of aggressive, but I certainly got low in many corners.

They were nicer than pegs by allowing me to more easily rest my heels on them.
Pretty much what I wanted them for

Whenever I've had front peg bike in the past after getting a nerve problem affecting my feet and ankles I started putting on the Kury stirrup pegs. They give me that heel support I need without taking away the look of the pegs. Some people are kinda anal about things like that.

They've come up with different styles over the years but this is what I still have. I take them off before selling the bike so I can use them if need be on another one.

I ran these on my Raider and M109R. The heel scrapes easily.

An acquaintance runs Jokers on his sporty. I put them on my Raider and M109R and will never go back to the Kurys. I like them so much that I also installed them on my Hammer. Note that you'll need an adapter for the hammer. Links:

Adapter for the Hammer (click the red Amazon button):

The adapter for the Hammer disallows the use of the Joker cant setscrews. Other than that, they're good.

Thanks for your input guys. I’ve searched around and I think I’ve decided on kuryakyn kinetic mini boards (gloss black). I’ve emailed them to verify they will fit my bike because there’s a lot of Harley fitment adapters but nothing on a 2014 hammer. The list for victory’s stops at 2013.

The Jokers are interesting but I’m looking for something that absorbs vibrations. Also, while amazon states in the description of the adapters that they will fit a Victory, it also states it will not fit my 2014 Victory Hammer 8 ball?? I’m a little confused.
Now I just came across the SwingWing foot pegs. Don’t know if they’ll fit my bike though. Another option...more searching

I hate compromising! But I am flexible.
I usually end up impulse buying, then continue to shop and compare to what I got. Then regretting what I bought, but later end up happy with what I have because it works.
Moral of the story, do tons of research and then spend more than you initially intended to spend!
You gotta love the internet!

Maybe it’s not so much the vibration I’m looking to eliminate but gaining foot position possibilities, being able to change the way I’m resting my foot throughout the ride and therefore leg position. That directly impacts the knee and hip comfort. Looking at the way the Joker mounts and the way the foot would rest on it, the ergonomics would be much better than anything mounted at a 45 degree angle from the bike (other than a floor board). I find a peg sticking straight out becomes very uncomfortable to me because that doesn’t match the angle of my foot/leg when sitting in the saddle. It doesn’t line up with my sitting position.
Looking at the pictures, the Joker allows the foot to rest at a more natural angle.
Now you have me thinking. And you know what that means? Probably spending more money! But Bbob has already pointed out that anything for a bike is going to be expensive!
Also looking at the pictures does the shifter have to be modified in any way? I would not see an issue for the foot break, I think.

I had the same issue with standard foot pegs. Tried floorboards, but lost lean angle. Ran the Kurys for a few years, but they have issues of their own (right peg loosens if you accidentally put too much weight on your heel, etc.). Jokers come with a cant adjustment, but please note again that on my Hammer, I had to use a Kury adapter that negates this adjustment. The Joker extends straight out from the mount and cannot be adjusted for cant (can't be tipped up slightly). I haven't found this to be an issue with me.

The Jokers feel like floorboards to me, but more comfortable. I think it's due to the serrated top. Foot placement feels more secure. Jokers allow different foot positions (minor changes), so my knees don't take a beating. No loss of lean angle that I've experienced.

I ride with lace up boots with leather soles.

Controls position the same as with standard foot pegs. My M109R and Raider both have extended forward controls. Haven't gotten around to extending them on the Hammer yet. Two very different leg/foot positions, both positions are very comfortable to me. I prefer extended so my legs don't spread like a $5 whore in the wind.

Joker offers many styles. I considered the floorboards. Glad I went with the heel rest version.

I have had good service from the Kuryakyn #4357 Ribbed Driver/Passenger Floorboards. I have run them on a number of bikes including my Gunner and 3 Sportsters. You would also likely need the Kuryakyn Splined Adapter Mount # 8828.

Comfortable, large enough, sturdy, multiple placement options.

If you end up with them be sure to put them in the up position after washing the bike so they can drain. Check all the fasteners from time to time as you do other fasteners on the bike. Finally, keep in mind, when in the twisties, that you
no longer have early warning bolts to let you know you are getting close to the immovable foot-peg brackets.

Good luck with your project.

Sharp looking bikes SportyDoug! Living in NM you must get tons of ride time in year round.
I ordered the Kuryakyn SwingWing pegs with Victory adapters. I’m hoping they do what I want them to do which is give my feet and legs moving around options.
Thanks for the suggestion though! I’ll post an update with pics when I get them on (if I can pry myself off the bike long enough).

Happy new year.

I like your choice. I have found the addition of some rubber gives me a more comfortable ride.

Are those U.S. Saddlebag Co. Bags? I put a set of those on a 2005 FLSTSC I owned. Nice bags.

Indeed, SW NM weather allows for more time on the road than I enjoyed in MI, but less than was available in SD, CA. The snow at 6K feet is still melting today, so next week looks possible. The difference between here and southern CA is the traffic, and I am at an age where less is more for me.

Pic below of the 2016 XL1200C that replaced the 2012. The miles on the 12 dictated a low asking price, so I moved most of the accessories (including the floorboards) to the 16. She's a peach.

Best wishes for many smile filled miles ahead.

Ok, after a long delay due to an error at Kuyrakyn with my order I finally got the SwingWing pegs and installed them this past week.
I opted for the black coated instead of chrome.
Huge difference with foot placement! Much more comfortable! Scrapped the road once so far in a heavy lean but it was a pretty sharp turn and I may have entered the the turn a little fast.
I do need to get a couple of washers to take up the play where the pin goes through the adapters but I haven’t noticed any movement while riding. I briefly tried them in the extended position but I was on country roads where I was not comfortable stretched out. They are definitely for taller riders when in the extended position, so much that I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to use them that way. I’m only 5’8”. Regardless, they are an improvement!
With these on, a new Corbin seat and new Elite 4’s this feels like a completely different bike! Just in time for the cold Pennsylvania weather...
(I would post a pic but for some reason the “add photo” icon is not there?)

Ah! Now I can show off my baby.
The Hole Shot pegs in back came with the bike but in the driver’s position (along with matching engine covers and hand grips). The service guy where I had my tires installed said the hand grips wouldn’t pass inspection because there is no rubber on them? I told him the dealer where I bought the bike passed them. So I don’t know what PA laws are concerning that but I guess I need to check it out.
