My wife and I both demo'd one too and found it quite comfortable at a sedate demo ride pace.

The biggest problem I have with Harleys is that they put $13 suspensions on their top of the line bikes. They also require more maintenance checks. A 2005 will have those spring tensioned cam belt tensioner shoes that caused so many problems. Primary chain tension is another issue that seems to cause their press fit cranks to "scissor" which causes destructive imbalancing.

You could also get a Cross Roads for about half the price with a great suspension, more ju ju, and none of those nuisance checks.

Just a thought.

As a side note, I just read that Harley's profit margin is over 45%!

Can't blame you. I have one herniated disc but still live the Hammer. But..if I pass by you, I will still wave, even if you don't. Must be a Harley thing. KCCO.

Congrats. Your ride your choice. Despite the fact you always wanted a HD, why didn't you look at the Vision or XCT?

I wish you the best of luck with your new ride. While the Hammer is a FUN bike, I sure couldn't commute on it. The Harley is comfy, but for my well-padded posterior, the XCT Was much better for me.

The Road King is a Classy Looking Ride.. Just keep an eye on the Cam Tensioners .. Or do the 07 Upgrade for them ..

Couldn't help but notice your #1 answer. I figure it had to by your #1 aside from putting the number beside it because it was the first thing that came to your mind as you were typing. Not too mention you are fully aware of the CC, CCT and Vision (yuk). My brother says the same thing. He wants a Victory really bad but if he was going to buy a brand new bike, I'm sure he would choose Harley because he said the exact same thing about wanting one his whole life.
It's not your fault, somebody gave you the coolaid long ago... A lot of people drink the coolaid and a lot of people wake up from the spell and trade 'em in on a Victory.

You'll be back
