Default New headlight

Finally ditched that abhorrent stock bulb for some LED goodness. This baby burns whiter than my honky azz in the middle of winter. (take my word for it)

While it can't be seen unless you look at it from above @ close range- I have an LED replacement coming for that fecking mini- mag-light bulb at the bottom too..

Be advised that a little bit of grinding & trimming is needed to acquire a perfect fit. The yellow-ish bulb support needed to be enlarged slightly, and the very smallest part of the center of the black bucket support needs to be cut out to make room for the heatsink/ fan housing. The ballast on this thing is tiny- no issues there.

So everything is still stock (housing I mean) only you changed the bulb and ballast ? Why would there be any grinding involved ? the 3 lips of the new bulb does not correspond with the stock housing (3 lip holes) ?

I have this questions coz I just burned my HID ballast on my high-beam and sadly had put my stock bulb in there again ....

I just replaced my stock bulb with a LED. The black bracket behind the light had to be enlarged to fit the back of the bulb (looks like a heat sink or fan). Not sure what this bracket actually does. I think it may hold the wires in the headlight bucket from touching the back of the light reflector due to heat. Wouldn't mine confirming this.

Yes all stock other than the bulb/ ballast. I believe the yellow ring is the support bracket for the bulb itself- what it 1/4 turns into. The bulb assembly has to be separated (it's made that way) Then put back together through the hole. It's just slightly too big- so a very minor adjustment to the opening is needed. There's a couple small parts and tiny screws involved.

The large black support bracket (removal not mandatory) looks like a series of concentric rings- like a round basket. It supports the reflector & bulb assembly. The LED has a fan / heatsink assembly that simply will not fit through the center hole. That got snipped and the leftover nubs got ground down. (just the very center needs to come out- zoom in on #5)

The back side of the bracket is a tangled mess of wires of all sorts. This is probably why there is absolutely zero spare wire length for that useless lower mini bulb. Can barely plug it in. It's probably tangled up in that. I have an LED coming for that too- just for that uniform appearance and it may help shape the beam a little as well.

I had a independent Victory guy local to me do this. He has installed several of these- including onto his own bike- so he has that familiarity with what needs to happen.

I just put a better bulb in mine for $15, good investment.
I dicked around with the Victory HID kit beforehand, probably wasted a day on it, but it was poor quality, did not fit, and not at all suitable for the Judge

That crap is a sore subject with me when being confronted by the spotlights on rednecker's big azz trucks at nite.

Didn't know that ?? Yes high beam ballast isn't working for 6 months now .... Low beam is all good mate, don't know what caused it ... Regularly use high beam here, but expected the bulbs to fail before the ballasts ... Maybe I should ask if I can try to repair it locally ... It has bolts on it ?

Yeah- I have no doubt it's a good kit, but I just didn't see it fitting in the round headlight assembly- which is packed almost full from the line. Plenty of positive recommendations from those with the bullet housing- not so much for the round ones.

I was contemplating one of those "Speaker" brand complete LED assemblies, but that was in the mid $200 range. I'm pretty thrilled with the bulb I got. Both the main bulb, and the little T10 one (inbound) will total up to less than $75 including all shipping.
