Default Oil cooler swap

So...I know the usual answer of "with the right amount of money and know-how, anything is possible"...but I was curious if it's possible to remove the front mounted oil cooler on pre '08 models and fit it with one that lies within the frame? Looks like the mount is the main thing and really, may not end up being worthwhile...but was curious. My wife wants a KP, but is very picky with asthetics (and yet she married me???). Figured this would at least open up the market a bit more for us. I'm relatively mechanically inclined.

I've seen it done in pictures but not in person so I know it can and has been done. My personal opinion is the longer frame mounted cooler's aren't really any better looking than the stock cooler; just different.

To each their own though. That's why they make different color jelly beans.

are you refering to the newer stock version that is just above the starter? i was looking at a new bike and it does seem pretty hard to convert over since the oil lines dont run out of the motor in the same place so im sure custom lines would need to be made.

they do make the aftermarket ones that run down parallel to the frame, but i wouldn't think that is what you are asking about since they were made for these bikes(i think anyway)
