Default Fouled air box.

IMG_0916.JPG this is what I have been finding in my air box. Last week I cleaned it out it was about half full. This pic is only a thousand miles. It seem to be water somehow mixing with crankcase vapors. I changed the oil. No water I the oil. Oil looked good. Any ideas what could be causing this?

While it does look bad, I would bet that you are getting condensation in your engine, and it is boiling off into the crankcase vapor line, as intended. Clovis looks to be in a fairly dry area, but in that same desert you can get a bit of water into a frying pan set out overnight (at least sometimes.) Is your bike parked in a closed garage? Is there often dew on the metal in the morning?

It would not take but a CC or two of water to make the oil vapor look that way.

I would not worry about it too much.

Also don't the CA bikes have some sort of additional clean air systems on them? Maybe an EGR? Certainly a vapor canister???
