Default Driving light mounting opinions?

What do you think of this mounting location? Or should I mount them were the red arrow is pointing in the first picture? I was thinking I would run a chrome plastic wire loom up to the headlight bucket for the wiring connections, snug up on the lower deflectors. Otherwise, if I mount on the linby bar, I can run a black loom along the frame rail and you wouldn't even see it...

Also, where can I find what wattage is available after the bike has what it needs? Will 110 watts be too much to add? Should I swap out the bulbs for either LED (at $18 per bulb) or just lower wattage halogen bulbs? I'm mostly looking for the front light triangle for visability and a little bit of low road/shoulder lighting.

I like your mounting position. I do not think I would mount the lights where you have the red arrow. I dont know how much wattage the halogen bulbs are consuming, but I would opt for led lights if I could get enough light out of them. No matter which light you end with, I would stick with your first mounting position. Just my 2 cents.

Someone else mentioned that this location would subject them to a lot of road shock which I hadn't thought of...

I have the Piaa halogen mounted low on the crash bar, about where your red arrow shows. I drilled a hole in the bars where the lights are mounted and ran the wire inside and down to where they mount to the frame and the back to the headlight for power. They work well and fellow riders say they can see my triangle coming for a long ways. I am also running hi/low HID with no problem.
