Default Lowing Kit

Am short so when I come to a stop I am on my toes. Has anyone ever put a lowing kit on there Vegas 8 ball.

Dealer says they can lower it approx 1.5" but am concerned if I will hit my pegs? Sometimes I do that now.

THANKS for your time.

there is a hole bunch of guy that have lowered there bike. They like it but you should move the wires under the rear fender so if you bottom out your tire will not rip them off. All so you readjust your shock to make it a little stiffer so you don't bottom out

If you ride aggressively , you will grind your pegs to a stump .

I had my 04 lowered 1.5" in the rear for a while. It scraped too easily for my liking, especially in the twisties. NOTE: My 04 is higher stock than your 14, so if you lower yours 1.5", you will be lower than I was.

I'm vertically challenged as well, but after scraping the actual frame of the bike on some serious curves, to the point that it began to take weight off of the rear tire, I raised the bike back up. I'd rather be on my toes at a light than low side in a corner.

If you don't do much aggressive riding on curvy roads, then you'll be fine with it lowered. Just be aware that speed bumps need to be very slowly addressed, and avoided altogether when riding two up. I scraped my oil pan a few times.

Witchdoctors makes a plate that goes under the rear fender to help protect the wiring harness. I recommend using that.

Semper Fidelis!

I got a 1 3/4 inch lowering kit off ebay for my wifes 2013 vegas , looks like it only lowered it about 1 1/8 1nch. I think they call it 1 3/4 because that's how much it would lower an older vegas , after 2010 they already have lowering links which gives them a lower seat height. She doesn't weigh much so I don't think it will bottom out but I made an inner fender liner out of some stuff I had in the garage just in case. We haven't been on any good twisty roads yet but Im sure it will drag if she rides aggressively in the turns. Also installed the footpeg rearward brackets that Witchdoctor sells .

If you lower a 14 Vegas. It will drag hard parts with only slightly aggressive riding.

I'm not an asshole...I just type that way

I also removed the seat cover and cut out an inch of foam , it helped but she still isn't flat footed. Im gonna look for a seat specialist to build a new lowered seat pan . Theres a guy in Winston Salem NC that's supposed to be good.

You can also look on eBay for a vegas "low" seat, that gives you nearly another inch lower than the stock seat. Look for a stitch that runs down the middle of the seat compared to no stitch, that's how you can tell the differance. I'll post a pic when I get home for ya.

Here is some I found. I just lowered mine 3inchs just to see how the ride is. My bike was already altered for this link as the previous owner had it that way. So far, no issues but haven't really rode it that muck since then.
