Default Stage 1 swept TOO LOUD...

Hello everybody, new guy on the block here...

I bought a 2008 Vegas Jackpot last year, I have been looking at the stage 1 swept pipes ever since I got the bike. I decided to go for it and got a set. I love how the bike looks with those pipes on.
I have to admit that at almost 50 yrs old, I find these pipes MUCH TOO LOUD for my liking.

Is there anything I can do to tone them down a few DBs.

Thanks for any inputs.

Mooneyac.

How long have you had the pipes on the bike? I have the same pipes on my 2008 Vegas 8 ball and with close to 400 miles on them since the bike and the pipes were new and it seems the pipes have quieted down a little. Or maybe I'm just getting used to them.

I don't know of any baffle kits that are made for those pipes but I do know that there are manufacturers out there that make baffle kits for many other pipes. There may be a universal baffle kit somewhere that could quiet them down a little for you...

Hope that helps a little.

Thanks BDiddy, I just put them on a few days ago, in fact I have to get the reflash done today, so the only riding I have done is around the neighborhood. I am still looking around different web sites trying to get more information on. Do you have to wear earplugs or has your pipes quieten down enough that you don't have to?

I do wear earplugs with my half helmet, but that's not only for drowning out the pipes but also for the wind.

I dont wear the ear plugs with my full face helmet because I like to be-able to hear a little of what's going on around me.

They are noticebaly more queit with a few miles on them but I dont know if thats from my bike quieting down or the pipes quieting down. The bike and pipes only have 400 miles on them (still going through the break in period) so it could be a combination of both.
