Default To Buy...or Not

Hi All...Newbie here so pls forgive if this has been covered in an earlier post...I currently ride an FZ6 Fazer as a commuter here in Sydney Aus. Great bike for what it does, but I want more.

Just got the missus to agree that I need a 2d bike and have been looking at the Suzuki M109R, somewhat less at the Triumph Rocket III, but when I saw the Victory Vegas Jackpot for the first time this week (on a web page at that) I thought DAMN! this is it! So have arranged a test ride this weekend to see for myself.

But what say ye? What should I be looking at here as key differences and why should I buy the Victory (while it looks hot, i am naturally a bit apprehensive as it is a relatively new brand and only just now launched down under)?

Appreciate any word of wisdom!

Hey man,
I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in a ride. My understanding is that the M109 will blow a victory's doors off, but it doesn't sound or look anything like the victory. Beleive me, they have plenty of pop in the 100CI and won't disappoint. My oppinion is the Victory is the best looking cruiser out there. Since they are few and far between where you live that would be tempting to me..... dare to be different. As far as being fairly new, I can assure you they are rock solid. The fat tire on the jackpot is an eye catcher. I think the proof is in the pudding and when you ride it for yourself you'll be sold. I'll be curious to hear what you think after your test ride..... drop a line and let us know what you think. If your interested, check out my post vegas 8ball for info on the vegas.

Thanks Gashouse for the reply.

Had to drive 2 hours to get to the dealership and wouldn't you know, as soon as I got there, it poured down with rain! However, the boys at Brisan's had a Hammer and a Vegas waiting for me and I couldnt wait to hop on. Took the Hammer out first. Coming from a Yamaha FZ, my feet kept searching for the pegs for the first 5 minutes and then I settled in...first thing I noticed was the power and a bit of backfire on deacceleration. Felt a lot more comfortable on the Vegas...the handlebars weren't as wide-set. But what got me was the front tire coming off the ground between 2d and 3d.. what a feeling! Oh and of course the 3 cars that nearly ran off the road while staring at the bike. Overall, a great experience. I'll definitly be buying one. Mind is made up., I've ditched the 109R idea and the Rocket III is a joke compared to the Victory. Now just trying to decide on the color scheme.

Has anyone heard of anything new coming out in the 2010 models?
