Default missing at steady throttle

New to the forum and Victory. I bought a 2004 Vegas and it is missing at steady throttle. Any suggestions.
TIA for the help.
Dave

Dave,
What do you mean by missing at steady throttle?

Well it idles fine, throttle is normal when rolling on but at a steady speed it pops, surges...misses. I don't know how to explain it but thats what it does.
I tried the TPS relearn and it seemed to be alittle better but still does it.

Dave,
Take this for what it's worth and I'm grasping at straws here, but my father's bike did something similar only his was at idle. His bike idled rough and backfired and stalled occasionally until it got up to temp. and then it would come out of it. He had his throttle body cleaned and fixed the problem all together. I'm wondering if this could be a similar problem. He has an '05 Kingpin. My '07 Vegas Popped when I put my shotgun exhaust on for a bit until I took it back to the dealer. They told me that it was a "Lean Pop", and richened it up a bit which seemed to help. I know it neither one of our issues are the same as yours but hopefully something I said may lead you in the right direction. Have you talked to a dealer yet for their oppinion? I'll be curious to know what you come up with so keep us informed. Good luck.

Thank you GG. I have an appointment at the dealer this Tues. but I was hoping to fix it myself with alittle help from the forums. I have read about the TB cleaning and might give it a shot today.

Default lean pop and missing at steady throttle position

I have an 04 Kingpin that does exactly the same thing DAVEL describes. I bought the bike from a dealer in May this year. I was experiencing lots of sputtering and back fires when letting off the throttle and misses when running at a steady RPM while holding the throttle steady. It would accelerate really strong without any issues. I have taken it to the dealer several times, they tell me the missing feels like an air bubble and they found the fuel injector o rings were cracked, they replaced them and I had them install the S&S air breather, because they said that helps the situation. It doesn't lean pop as much, but still get the occasional miss (air bubble?) while running at a steady rpm. Maybe I am picky, but this drives me crazy. Is this a Victory or v-twin phenomenon? If I ride the bike hard, which I don't normally do, it gets much worse, maybe I am loading up the cylinders? BTW, the dealer told me that he has a 2009 Kingpin that lean pops very badly, due to the lean emmissions settings required by law and the fix is to install a power commander. Ideas?
