After reading for a week I decided to join. I just upgraded to the XCT from a yenture. I have owned all the Japanese manufacturers in he past but this is my first Victory. My wife convinced me to buy the bike I wanted and after riding the Ultra and the XCT there was no real choice. Looking forward to learning more from your vast knowledge.
Well I have put 1000 miles on the bike with today being the longest day in the saddle. Now I know I had the venture 3 years, but I can't remember my butt hurting this bad on the venture or any other bike I have owned. After 8 hours today I was whipped. I would hate to replace the seat since I have the backrest and love the heated seat function. Does it take awhile to break in, or are there suggestions?
welcome to the club from another AL member. Did you buy from Shoals? I haven't heard a whole lot of complaints about the CC seat. How is your reach to the bars?
I bought it in Athens, great people to deal with. The seat is great the first half of day but after that I am wishing I had the Venture seat , it was suggested that I might have too much air in the rear shock so I am going to try that first.
I didn't experience any pain from the stock saddle on my last XC and I haven't with my new XCT. If you only ride 1-up you probably only need 10-15 lbs in your rear shock.
The stock seat/position isn't perfect for everyone, it's a personal preference choice. Upgrade to a custom seat, add a gel pad, go with new pull back bars, etc.
I came from a KLR 650 to my Judge. I have heard some complain about the judge seat, but comparing it to the dirtbike seat its like a butt cloud (exaggerating a bit). Would a nice fluffy shipskin get rid of some of the butt pain? Or are they mostly for air flow. In my brain box it seems it would help....but ive never owned one, may be minimal.
The Gel butt pads work great. I had one on my ZX-14 and it may look silly but it made a huge difference.
