Went to Arlen Ness today to pickup a few things for the bikes and met Sonny Barger with his small (in number) HA entourage. Really nice guy. We probably spent a half hour talking about stuff.

He sold his Vision and bought a 2013 black Cross Country Tour. He had a Corbin seat custom made for him in Hollister, the day before. The seat looks great. He had bought the bike from Arizona Victory and he had the stock saddlebag bars replaced with their version. They looked substantial compared to the ones on the Tour. The Victory Zumo is mounted on his handlebars.

He's in a single episode of SOA this year and told me more about what happens this season than I wanted to know and, no, I won't give away any spoilers. :) He had the SOA tattoo on his left hand (not permanent - just for the show - and the temporary tat will last about three weeks). He said he tried to convince Kurt Sutter, creator of SOA, that SOA should find DNA evidence that overturns his lifetime conviction on the show so he can be on full-time - doesn't sound like that's going to happen. One really interesting thing I found out is Sutter rides a Victory, which is why he wanted them on the show. Victories won't be used this season; Harley heard about the move and literally gave SOA a dozen bikes to keep Victory from being in the show.

What else? The movie of his book, Dead in Five Heart Beats, is in final edit now, the ending is changing from the book for the movie, he thinks it's a stronger ending, and they'll premiere it in Europe first and then look for American distribution depending on its European reception. Apparently most, if not all, of the bikes in the movie will be Victories. And yes, unprompted, he told me what the new ending to the movie is. :(

He also told me that most of the beefs between clubs are generally started by cops who infiltrate the clubs and try to escalate tensions between the clubs.

Anyway, he was very generous with his time and loves the Victory bikes.

Yep, just happened last month. He had 92,000 trouble-free miles on it and was offered a great deal for it and he decided to go with a black '13 Cross Country Tour.
