depot picker We had 4 days of awesome riding. Met a bunch of new friends, ate well and drank enough. We'll be there next year too.

bsbabcock ^ Yep that's an 'old boys' club I'm proud to be a member of now too. Funny back in my harley days it was all about the bling for me. Now it's what's under the hood.

Lack of Attendance

I believe the main reason that there was only one or two sign up is the different perspective from the newer generation of buyers.

I see WAAAY more Vics on the road in my travels than I ever have. I was one of the first generation of Vic buyers (on my 5th one...) and in the begining , we all got into MORE POWER. I've run custom exhaust, tuners, built custom air boxes and work with another guy building custom Vics from ground up for a couple of years. But times change. Money needs change. Hell, we get older (DAMMIT !!!).

A LOT of todays buyers are leaving the bike bone stock (as far as performance) or going with Stage 1 simply for louder exhaust. Being the biggest, baddest or fastest means nothing to these guys. They buy a bike that fits and is reliable; looks good, and ride the piss out of them. Nothing wrong with that. But a large portion of the new Vic purchasers now, will likely spend money on bling for their bikes, rather than performance.....

Great area for a rally and usually a great time of year to be up there.

Well given that it's also a brand new chapter of folks and the prez works as much as I do as well. We're a very new chapter so doing what we could. We were basically glad to find a spot, host hotel etc, get rides and stuff together etc. I couldn't even go down there and help this weekend.

bsbabcock Heck I couldn't even go. I gotta work all weekend. No there was another guy that signed up actually. I was trying to drum up the bikes to get him up there as a member of the hosting BRVR chapter.

Were you the singular CONFIRMED client? In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the organization or Kevin's decision. Everyone should understand that this is a business for these vendors and if they attend, they have to forego other revenue elsewhere so a minimum number of client's is needed order to justify traveling.

Kevin as as well as organizer's of this event hit every website's forums (numerous times over the 2 months leading into this) in the attempt to drive some additional interest so the reason Kevin is not at this event is not a ding on either the event organizers or Kevin.

I was/am interested in getting CAMs and would have been there had this event not coincided with my Anniversary (I am in Charleston this weekend). I also have another friend that would have joined me but he also has an annual event (bicycle ride to Myrtle Beach & Back for charity) that occurs this weekend every year.

Rather, the fault would be directed at those wanting service but not taking the time (in advance) of letting the organizers (or kevin) know of their interest.

bsbabcock He had to cancel the cam party due to only one bike to sign up.

He's in Florida I believe at present.. Just posted a dyno chart on his FB page.
