Fairing and Saddlebags

I spent weeks looking for photos of people's Hammers with a fairing and saddlebags for touring, so I figured I would share what I ended up with for other to see how it turned out.

Victory Touring Seat
Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing (MEM7031)
Memphis Shades 6.5in. Spoiler Windshield (MEP8541)
MEMPHIS SHADES METRIC Trigger Lock Mount Kit (MEK1927)
Viking Bags Victory Hammer Large Ultimate Shape Saddlebags (7059)
FYI - the new mounting hardware that is supplied with the Viking Bags for the Hammer does not work! I had to modify the kit so it wouldn't destroy the fender. I would imagine this will be corrected soon, since the new hardware just started shipping in the last 2 weeks.
I used a threaded rod coupling from Home Depot as a standoff between the bag mount and the fender strut. It slips over the bolt and into the recess of the strut and creates a 3/4" gap between the two. (Home Depot) The mounting is rock solid, but I will likely add the Edge Leather Quick Release later to ease taking the bags on/off.

No upgraded shocks. This was my first ride over 150 miles. 1390 miles over 4 days with day 1 and 4 being 500 miles each.

Looks clean. You guys with black bikes get away with anything. Any other color and it just doesn't look right.

I also recommend floorboards. I put on the these guys and they alone have made long rides much more enjoyable for me.

BTW: Hows the Victory touring seat working out for you? I keep going back and forth whether to try it or just have the stocker modified. Still can't decide....

The touring seat is comfortable, especially since I ride 2-up fairly often. I also had the stock seat modified. The foam was shaved and a gel pad was put in under the leather. It's actually a little bit more comfortable than the touring seat now, but honestly not enough to make we swap back and forth. I really only ride with the touring seat for the past year or two.

Never considered installing boards. I may have to look around to see how it would look. Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know about the touring seat. I'm still not sold on the looks, because I like the cowl, but I think I'd do it in the name of comfort.

My phone camera is broken right now, so I can't take pics of the bike with it, but I'll try my tablet when I get home so you can see what those floorboards look like. They look great imo.
