New to the forum, looking at a few different bikes but the Vegas 8-ball has really caught my eye pretty good.

I'm in the market for a bike and have been throwing a few different ones around. Looking at the VTX1300 and Vegas 8-ball right now. I was wondering how the riding position was on the 8-ball, the VTX is pretty good but i haven't had the chance to ride a 8-ball.

Also what kind of deals has everyone else gotten on their 8-ball, the MSRP is 12,500 new. What is a realistic price to try and get it down to, looking to pay cash o.t.d if i can.

Or will buy a used one if anything pops up between now and the end of August.....when i plan to have enough cash for a new one.

A used one will run me 6000 - 7500 for a older model Vegas or a new model 8 ball

That isn't too bad at all, what is he tax % there. I believe mine will be 8.5% and if i get a new one I'll probably do 7k down and pay a note on the rest, then just pay it off in 3-4 months.

Have never bought a new bike or seen a used bike other than harley hold its value this well. With the Vegas im seeing them selling for over half the new value for a 9 year old bike.

Hoping to find a used one though so i can have it paid off and maybe buy a few accessories.

I wonder if polaris dealers that dont sale victories can service the bike, the closest victory dealer is two hours away. Usually do all my own but if its new i atleast want the first one done at a dealer.

Emailed the closest dealer, trying to see what/when the next rebate is going to be. I'm not in the military so that one doesn't work for me, hoping i can get it for 12-12.5k otd and put 7k down, my note should be around $150 a month for 3 years. And hopefully pay that off with my income tax, assuming i get anything back.

Has anyone noticed if the 6th gear that it got in 2011 made a big difference in high speed ( 70 - 75 ) mph rpms. If it isn't a huge difference i may go with a used bike if one can be found.

At 70-75 mph 6th gear will drop your rpms by around 600.

Alright that aint too bad but a overdrive pulley might work almost as well. Went to the Polaris dealer in town and the salesman said their trying to get victory's in the showroom. Would be October before they got them but at least i would have a place to have it serviced under warranty close by.

I'm going to be looking for a used 8 ball in the 5500-7000 range for the next month or two. Maybe I'll luck up and find one, theirs a 03 Vegas in Dallas TX for sale by a dealer for 5k but he wont answer my calls.

Sat on a 12' Yamaha Stryker today and while it was comfortable and priced pretty cheap i sat way to close to the tank and the bars where too low.

Had been looking for a VTX1300 with little luck around here and the ones i found i could get a used 8-ball for a little more. Figure if I end up buying a new one might as well spend a little more for alot more bike. Have only owned Honda's before i go and purchase this one.

Ended up buying the Stryker at the beginning of July 12' and kept it for a little over a year. Sold it when I moved and just recently decided to get another bike.

Now I am back looking at the Vegas, will get a used one for sure this time. I got everything back I had paid on my stryker so i lucked out on that. However instead of putting so much down on a new one I would much rather OWN a used one out right.

So I am back looking for a Vegas in the 5500-7k range.

Figured I would Re-introduce myself

Took a little longer than I wanted but I finally got one, ended up moving to SC in May of 14 and patiently waited until I bought a house with a garage before buying. Now I just have to get either the 10'+ peg setup or the kit that moves the pegs back a little. And I will probably get some risers with about an inch more pullback.

So far I have ordered the 1.5" lowering link, witch doctor fender wire cover and ez clutch.

Its an 2008 -- 8-ball -- 9900 miles, hacker ripper exhaust, fuel controller and Lloyd torque tubes pretty much everything else is stock.
