I'm wondering what the wind for your passengers is like at higher speeds. Say 60 and up.

My girl loves riding on the back of my Vegas. But the main complaint she has is on the freeway, she feels like the wind is pushing her back and she has to hold herself up. Apparently this is tiring. Needless to say we can't to too many long trips because of this. With the X tourers having the trunk w/backrest, I'm sure this helps. Does the front faring help at all with this as well?? Have any of your passengers said anything about this on highway travel?

Personally I think she's trying to drum up excuses to buy another Victory. I lover her for it.

I have the Klockwerks Flare, and my wife (about 5' 5") says that she is not getting beaten up out back, i.e., everything's fine. We're talking tooling along the super-slab at 70 - 75 mph. BTW, we had a Valkyrie Interstate for seven years, and she says that she sits higher above me on the XCT than she did on the Valk, and that she also has more fore/aft space on the XCT.

I also have the Klock Werks Flare, my wife is 5'4, and she says she has no problems on the back, at all. Her only complaint is not being able to hear the stereo at 75+ on the interstate. Guess it's an excuse to upgrade to an amp and bigger speakers :)

My wife got spoiled riding on the back of the Goldwing. When I went to a BMW R1200RT she refused to ride back there, not enough room, too windy, it goes too fast, etc.
So....I went to the XCT! She loves it!
No wind to speak of, plenty of room.
She is 5'10" and about 135 lbs.
Hard to beat for a passenger.

I have the XCT. The old lady says she doesn't get any wind except on her head since she's sitting up several inches higher and further from the windshield. She says it's not bad but does pull her head back if she doesn't bundle up her long hair (no helmet). And yeah she loves the trunk backrest, she says it's very comfy.

The only complaint my wife has related to wind is that it always blows her pant legs up so she has to "fix" her pants everytime we stop. That's just at highway speeds, not on the back roads. I have a set of home made lowers inside the forged bars which help reduce the lower leg wind some, but not completely. The bike also had the Vic fork lowers and a 17" windshield on it when I bought it.

I bought my XC used, so not sure what other upgrades were done by previous owner, but wife and I both find the wind management, seat comfort, and radio quality to be very good on this bike.

Cheers,
Randy

Hey jacktrash, are you still happy with your +4 Cee Bailey? I'm leaning that direction. I'm 5' 9" so the 13" CB seems like a good match.

My wife felt like she was going to get sucked off of the back of my vegas the one time we rode. It was windy out we made it 20 miles and turned around and went home, it was uncomfortable, the backrest was to small, and there was no wind protection for her, and I had a tall windshield on it. The next weekend I traded it for my cross country, I put a backrest, the vic soft lowers on it and a klockwerx flare on it and even at 100 mph my wife was comfy and felt very safe, but she did tell me to slow down! From my experience, if you plan to do much 2up riding, get the cross bike, you won't regret it one bit.

The momma has a mile-or-more in the saddle. We were talking about this the past few days. I asked if the XCT was as good as the Wing was. She said the seat fix was the final fix. We had her lowered about an inch. It wasn't intentional, just how the seat was made. It also made the bike much more stable 2 up. With the Klock Works Flip she is very happy. Strong crosswinds are the only thing she feels, and there isn't any way around that.
Vents open about an inch and the KW Flip, seems good from 55 to 105 degrees and she is sleeping just fine on long trips. I would say she is comfy.
Good Luck cheers

Better backrest is where I would go first. My trade on the XCT had a medium to large backrest on it and she felt it was fine. Initially her complaint on the XCT was that the pad vibrated and caused her back to itch. She has either gotten over it or now enjoys it. We've been 100+ a few times and she gets much less wind over my old bagger. I've got a Klockwerks screen and she is 5'3".
