What did you do to your Cross Bike today?
 
I also frequent a Wrangler TJ forum - there is a thread similar to this there and it has 1,000s of responses. You can get ideas and learn from what others are doing with their toys - so, lets see if it works here...

I'll start.
I installed the 1/4 turn throttle from Lloyds. I did not find it as easy to put in as some others...getting the nut and lock nuts loose was easy. But when I took the throttle assembly apart there was a bottom piece not discussed in the video and another screw under the bottom plate that needs to come out. Also if you do this mod - cut off all the zip ties on the cables/wires so you can get enough slack to get the throttle handle off the bars. Getting the cable stops in their holes was an interesting process - it was awesome when i did, but it took 10 minutes of fiddling. All told it took about 35 minutes for me to get the whole thing done including re-zip tying - I could do it alot faster now that I learned the process.

How do i like it? ALOT!
There is no slop in my throttle now nice and tight from turn to end of turn - the best part is it got rid of my "driveline slop" I thought that maybe my belt was loose or something else...now when I release the throttle and re-engage the throttle there is no lurch at all. Like when going down a hill and the engine breaking stops and pushes the bike forward it is tight and smooth as is using the throttle in low speed maneuvers - the mod was worth it just for this improvement! thumb up
I also like how the throttle feels alot more than stock - it is a little more that half as far a twist from idle to full throttle - does not feel twitchy or sensitive - just right.
i highly recommend this mod!!
A heads up the part costs $19.99 - Witchdoctor wanted $21 to ship this little thing out :crzy:
Lloyds was $12 for shipping - still high for a 1 oz part that would ship USPS for $3...but that's the way it is - still worth it

I did nothing! Too much rain to ride here. I did take an afternoon nap though. :crzy:

I'm typing in a Subway sandwich shop in Newcastle, WY about 300 miles from where I started and about 400 to get through to get where I am bound. I just saw 50 degrees finally on the gauge so maybe I'll shut off the hand warmers. I hope I don't hit any more snow or rain.

Been there - hate rain, LOATH snow. I had to go over a mountain pass to get home (Lake Tahoe/Echo Summit). It started snowing and hailing hard - I had to ride in the tracks of the Ford 150 right in front of me (this was late May). talk about white knuckle riding - when we got out of the snow and back to rain at a lower elevation - I liked rain for a short time...
Good luck Pop and take your time - even consider a hotel if it gets bad -

Installed the Victory Lock and Ride backrest on my brand new XC. Pretty simple install, though I have to admit removing the saddle bags and taking the saddle bag supports off was a very delicate operation. Delicate only because I didn't want to scratch or ding anything on my brand new bike... My wife and daughter really like the backrest though... So it's all good.

Next up will be installing the Ness Flip Windshield. It should arrive tomorrow... I don't anticipate this being a big deal to do, but I'm really hoping it makes a big difference in air flow/ head buffeting.

By the way, I'm the member of several Jeep forums... More focused on JK's though. Just Empty Every Pocket... Motorcycles have the same affect... :p

Nope, it ain't working here, but at least you tried. Maybe because the whole forum really is about who made what mods and how, or who fixed what broke, and how. ;)

I have the backrest also. If you don't plan on taking off often you may want to put a small bolt,washer and nut on each side ( there are holes) so no one can just pull the tabs up and walk away with a $450. part....I did that first day and it has never been off - I carry a cooler all the time on the rack.
The bags come off very easy - lining up the twist pegs to re-install can be interesting ....
