Driveline Noises

Hi Guys,

Just a few questions about my cross roads classic. I get a whining noise coming from what sounds like the rear pully. It increases and decreases as I speed up and slow down. Noise seems to get louder when the bike is hot. Belt is tracking to the inside of the pully, and belt tension is in spec. I really notice it when cruising at highway speeds and pull in the clutch so the bike coasts. A whine is the best way to describe it. not sure if this is normal. Do you guys notice the same type of thing or are your drive lines silent when coasting?

Thanks

i started picking up some whine when my tires got to about 60% wear. Barring that, you might get the bike off the ground and spin the rear wheel to see if you get any noise or drag.

You pull in clutch and noise is still there.
I'm thinking bearings.
What year is it how many miles on it.
Go to dealer

I get a pretty good whine out of my tires, especially at lean when on a curve on a 4-lane highway. I would start with the tires and then go onto the bearings and belt.
