I know there was a thread about a jackpot that leaned to the left

Has anyone run into this with the kingpin? I tried taking it to the dealer, they said they tightened the handlebars and checked and found no issues. I've tested going on some one way streets late at night too, just to check if it wasn't a slope of the road issue, but seems to be it always leans a little to the left. I've asked to try and get a rear wheel alignment check and it seems a lot of shops shy away from doing that, so I'm going to end up trying on my own using a threaded 1/4" road and a bolt attached at the end to try and measure swingarm to axle nut on both sides. Besides that, anyone run into this or have any more tips? Thanks.

Don't just measure the swingarm to axle nut; you may throw your belt alignment off. A better check for the rear wheel alignment is to be sure your belt and pulley are perfectly in line with each other. Sight down the belt from the rear and see if there is any angle after the belt leaves the pulley. The pulley/belt being straight is more important. Unless, your belt is stretched on one side, which seems unlikely to me.

32 in front and 40 in rear. Had the dealership check that as well, and that is in fact what they recommend. Mind you, I have no real frame of reference for a lot on this bike as I bought it used only a few weeks ago.

32 is not enough pressure in the front,
Crank it up to 39-43,
Is the bike trying to turn left or right?
Are you sitting straight on the bike?
Some people have a tendency to sit to one side of a bike slightly, have someone ride behind you and observe your bike and your riding posture.
I know this cos I'm guilty of it myself at times.

Oh yeah be suspicious of a dealership that don't know correct tyre pressures too.

These bikes in stock form have a tendency to pull right. It's due to the heavy cannons they put on for mufflers. As Broggy mentioned earlier it's likely your wheel is not properly aligned. Also there is no way on an 18" 3.5" wide tire in the front you should only be running 32psi. I would run no less than 40psi.

Tried it at 38 psi front, which I'm glad to hear sounds closer to what everyone else would ride it at. I really did think 32 was way too low. They allege that having it softer in front gives better grip, and while that might be true, I don't think I'd need to go below 38 to get the better grip. Sounds like someone wants to sell me tires more often. ;)

In any case, even at 38 it still had the issue and I'm with broggyr thinking he's so on the money about the belt tension being the issue. Just a quick peek eyeballing it from a creeper, I can swear it seems the belt is sitting completely on the outside of the pulley, but I'll know for sure once I get the chance to put it on the harborfreight lift and check the tension. Assuming that is the case, I'm guessing I would be turning clockwise to tighten the belt and that would move it left/inside? BTW, what size socket is the adjuster nut? No mention in the service manual and I'm going to have to either borrow or buy a a deep socket for it. I'm going to stick with about 1/2" belt deflection seems to be about what service manual recommends, unless someone tells me they're running it differently and has better success with it?

Reason I'm for broggyr's assessment, here's a piece of a post from "prior to the adjustment, the alignment marks were off (from one side to the other) by one whole mark and I had a very slight pull to the left. After setting the belt tension on the right side, I simply matched up the mark on the left side so it was identical to the right side (after tensioning the belt). I rode the bike to work today and noted that the pull to the left was totally gone, so I'd say I nailed the alignment pretty well. The belt rides to the outside of the sprocket, but doesn't make any noises / squeaks etc. I think I'd be hard pressed to get it any better than it is right now." Post is at

One other question for all of you with long pipes. How do you measure marks on axle nut? Trying to see it from between the pipes ain't easy so I was just going to shove a marker in a straw to mark the line it's sitting at so I can make sure right and left sit evenly.

I never pay attention to the marks. With wheel off table give it a few forward spins. Wait for it to stop. Now look down the belt it should be in a straight line. If its hooked right or left your off but maybe not by much.
From now on you wouldn't need to realign wheel if you don't mess with the adjusters.
To check your alignment go for ride get it up to 60mph and take hands off bars. It should drift slow to the right.
I would swing by dealer and tell service manger all what you found.
Tell him its upsetting you paid good money for poor work and will think twice about bringing it back.

While not paying attention to the marks makes sense in that I need the wheel straight as opposed to paying attention to marks, isn't something wrong if they don't line up? I mean theoretically the way the swingarm was designed on pretty much any bike, a wheel should sit straight side to side and belt tension shouldn't pull it out of whack. Or am I just asking too much, and living in too theoretical a world. I'm guessing those of you who have made adjustments would know much better than I.

As for the dealership, I'm going to record the work I do, and tell them I should expect at least that much back in man hours spent fixing it myself and I'd be happy to speak to Victory corporate, the BBB and those in in internet community if they don't at least acknowledge that their techniques were lacking. Now, I'm going to guess they're going to give less than half a damn considering they are a Polaris, Ducati, Kawasaki, Honda dealership. My satisfaction probably rates pretty low on their rank of concerns. Just know next time I should try and tackle it myself or head to an independent shop...

Checked the belt tensions and it was fine. It's true, using the marks is useless as the plate with the marks slides with the axle. I ended up measuring amount of threads left on the adjusters, pulled it back about 2 threads on the left side and all is fine now. Thanks all.

My 07 seems to trail very nice. Last year, I had an issue with wheel alignment and that caused it to "Pull" to the left a little but not lean.. Maybe you should take it in and get a proper wheel alignment.
