Good Afternoon and Happy 4th of July

Not a new owner but it seems that I have to post here first before I can post anywhere else about my problem.

The bike is a 2007 Vegas 8-Ball with roughly 40,000 miles. Purchased by me in 2015 or so. All of the mods were done by the original owner at time of new purchase. I've done basic maintenance on the bike such as pads, oil, plugs and wires, and tires.

The problem is after I changed the clutch cable.

With the bike being 12 years old, I've read that I should replace the throttle body adapter since I would have the tank off the bike for the cable replacement. That was a struggle but I replaced it and cleaned the throttle body as well. Surprisingly it wasn't too dirty.

After putting the bike back together is when the problems start. Rough idle, lots of decel popping, and frequently stalling at lights. I double check to make sure all the items unplugged during disassembly were reconnected. I replaced the two vacuum caps while replacing the TBA because they were shot. I thought maybe I put 87 octane gas in the first tank but filling up with 93 doesn't help. The hotter the bike gets, the worse it runs.

Stock intake with an Arlen Ness Slingshot exhaust. The bike had mild popping before the work but it is to the point that it isn't very good for any distance. It pulls strong under throttle but partial throttle is rough.

Any thoughts??

Thanks,
Brian

Sounds like maybe a vacuum or intake leak? You can check with some carb cleaner. start the COLD bike and spray around the area of the throttle body adapter. DO NOT spray carb cleaner on a hot bike as this can start a fire. If the idle rpm changes or it dies, you know it's leaking air.
