i have a 1999 v92c with a 2002 engine swap. i put it together with original 99 pipes and all of the 99 fuel injection. the bike ran pretty good. idled at 950-1000 ran good except it sputtered between 1500-2000 rpm, but ran great above 2000 rpm.i recently put on victory performance stage 1 exhaust and a PMRT chip. i was told that the PMRT chip worked great with the engine swap and pipes. now the bike has a high idle near 1100 and if you rev it up it has no throttle response and the rpm hang around 2000. when your riding it if you try to hold 2000 in any gear it sputters and bucks. if you rev it past 3000 it seems to run ok.i been working on this bike for a year trying to get it right and has fought me tooth and nail.the bike has alot of sentimental value to me. any ideas? any help is much appreciated, i got to get this old vic on the road soon.......

Hi MV, been following your progress, glad to see you found a good chip. I would start with a TPS static reset, this will give you a starting point, then you can proceed to the dynamic adjustment even though it may be running better than ever at that point, the fine tuning will take to where you want to be . Shoot me an email & I can get you the info-it's a bit involved and is about 8 pages of the manual. It takes some feel and a good ear to find the sweet spot and every bike is different but when it's done right you won't have to mess with it for a very long time. In the mean time make sure your battery & charging system are strong & all your sensors- MAP & air temp/crank position/oil temp, are clean and connected , don't be afraid to shine and put a glob of dielectric grease on every connection in the wiring harness. These are great bikes but it does take some work getting the bugs out-it's worth it.

throttle body is cleaned, but i am going to check every sensor. the battery is strong and i keep it on a tender. the charging system says 14 amps while running. i tried the static tps reset, but i will try it again. bytn2it thank you for the help. i have a service manual for both years 99 and 02.

all connections are clean and plugged in. i did the TPS static reset. Can you perform a dynamic TPS reset without the diagnostic lamp(service manual calls for it).if the bikes in neutral and you try to hold 2000 rpm it surges

Yes, you can simply jumper the B & E pins-if you hold the 5 pin connector with the row of three pins on top B is the center pin in the top row & E the bottom right pin-you probably already know that if you did the static reset. Why are you trying to hold 2000 RPM-I don't remember that part-I know a tac is suggested and a fan in front of the bike's a good thing too, also need a long screw driver. It's been a while since I had to mess with mine.

That won't do anything on the old Visteon system-you need to to jumper the pins and use your service manual to reset and adjust the TPS.

i could not get the bike to run right even with the tps reset. made an appointment with Danny at LLoyd'z and drove 200 miles to get the bike dyno tuned with a PC. they had the bike running perfect in less then 3 hours. better then factory 99 by far, and the bike feels like a monster now putting 79hp and 93tq to the wheel. pretty good for an old girl. good people great service 2013-04-24 15.16.15.jpg

the chip and pipes really upset the stock FI. he said he was having problem with the 99 injectors having a lean spot off idle and the fuel map would go rich.he reset the tps twice. chips can act differently in different bikes, i could of had the chip re-burned but it still would not of been 100%.no hesitation or sputter in any rpm, any gear. you an tach it to 6000 and no back fire when u let off
