Ok hear we are again Im back asking a question i have received so much good help so far. OK this is my problem when i shift my bike it goes into neutral sometimes when it should be going into 3rd 5th and sometimes in to 5th gear i take off in 1 then hit 2 then sometimes when going into the next gear i let out the clutch only to find it in neutral then i hit the clutch a few times and the shifter to get it into a gear this does not happen every time i ride the bike but with the problems i have had its nerve wracking any info or input is greatly appr . oh and i no the bike had the warranty work on the trans thanks guys

Well I hate to be the one to tell you this but you have fell victim to the early victory transmission failure. I was also a victim to this dreaded problem. you have a few options beginning with upgrading the existing transmission to the 03 transmission. Or you can go the freedom swap route, this was the way I went. My total cost was under $2000 I did all the labor my self but I did have to take it to the dealer to get the fuel mixture correct. do a quick search you will find a bunch of information. Vicbuilder can do both the freedom upgrade or the transmission upgrade.

but when i bought this bike i was told that the bike had the transmission replaced warranty work i was told this by the dealer that did the work

They may have repaired the transmission? One way to check to see see if the transmission has been up graded is to look for a speed sensor at the front pulley. you are looking for a short round cylinder with a wire coming out of the back of it it will right behind the front drive pulley. If you look close at the picture I attached the sensor is shown.

One other note the SC was only made for 2 years 2000 and 2001 The C was made in 1999.

This is interesting. What Bill says is pretty much spot on. The thread bothers me because the symptoms he is experiencing are pretty consistent with the early tranny failures.

If the tranny was indeed replaced with an 03 which many (but not all) were then I'd find it pretty surprising that its failing because the 03 unit is pretty much rock solid.

In the early days, the 99's were corrected using an 01 transmission which (with the exception of a batch of non heat-treated gears) were also pretty darn solid. I'm not certain if the 01 kit had the sensor location Bill mentions.

Also, you might have a dealer run the VIN on that scoot to verify the fix was done. They can run your VIN and get a service history if the work that was done at Victory dealers. It bothers the hell out of me that you are having these symptoms with either an 01 or 03 repair kit. You shouldn't be.

How many miles on the scooter? FWIW, my 99 failed right at 22,500 miles and it was a $2478 fix although that did include a rear shock rebuild and a cam.

EDIT: If the motorcycle does not have the sensor at the pulley AND has a trapezoidel-toothed belt (as opposed to rounded teeth) thed I'd "guess" its highly unlikely the tranny has been replaced.

And if thats the case your dealer gots some splainin to do.

I have been thinking your dealer may have upgraded the transmission. I believe there were 2 transmission upgrades an 01 and 03 upgrade. If your transmission had an 01 upgrade victory had a batch of soft third gears and addressed this problem with the cush drive. I am not sure when they started installing the 03 transmission. My guess is if you have a magnetic oil plug when you do your next oil change you will find the heads if 2 very small allen screws stuck to it. they will have been shared off the shift drum if you tear into the bike you will find your shift forks are bent also. Like I said before get in touch with VicBuilder he may have more answers.

thanks guy im really discouraged with this bike its my first bike i looked for 3 years before i stumbled across this bike it had everything on it you would want then my problems started 4 days after i got it spends most of time in shop or in driveway waiting to get enough money to make new repairs had electrical problems TPS problems then get it out of storage road five times this season and starter **** the bed 500 bucks then to be out on a ride and get to upper gears on some occasions pop out and make awful grinding sound just depressing
