I'll throw in on this discussion. I have an 07 Hammer with a 2into1 exhaust, K&N air filter and Stage 1 map and it runs fine but it is rich, with black soot on the inside of the silencer and the plugs are dry medium to dark brown. Note that I live in a small town with short hops so my situation is pretty unique. In my opinion, if you want to make power on a mostly stock bike, consider a 2 into 1 exhaust. I am of the opinion rich is way better than lean, but I am old 2smoke guy...

I currently own four 2012 Victory XCT bikes and not a one of them leaves black spots or spatters on the garage floor.
Fair enough but the OP's bike doesn't have the same FI system your newer ones do - no O2 sensors on the pre 09 bikes, as I understand. My 13 xc is much more civilized than my 07 hammer.

Thanks for the response. I read this at Dennis Kirk.

Trying to make power is expensive and best left to those with deep knowledge and experience - throwing money and parts at things almost never achieves good results. A vic is a great bike but quick and fast it isn't. Like others have said - if it isn't running well, I recommend you get it back to stock and then sort it out. Once sorted decide if you really need/want to chase more power or just enjoy a very well designed bike that is a joy to ride. You might be surprised how much giggle factor is in a $20 1/4 turn throttle ring :) Good luck and please keep us posted.

Our bikes are quite similar ....:) I prefer your driven sprocket cover!
My bike's richness can be observed on the adjuster covers and pulley...

VFC3 is a piggyback tuner (I believe put out by Lloydz) like the Power Commander 5

A better shot of the drive belt cover:
I have never seen products from that manufacturer - can you provide a link if they are still in business (searched but didn't land on anything). Did you paint your pulley or is it aftermarket? Thank you
