Stretched the truth in a few places and 'assumed' that most folks wouldn't know the whole truth due to ignorance but by & large some pretty good comparisons.

heck....the pitch obviously worked for me...btw mike is a neat fella...
and also by the way...i know an HD rider that just turned 40k...new stator/alternator...can shaft wore out and was a complete re-build with bearings.....fact is, i don't know any HD riders that put the mile on like i do...and then there is the trailer/pickup thing that is a standing joke on my street-corner...to close, as a (non-mechanical) engineer - the differences in the vic made/make good sense...and there we are.

Now that is funny :ltr: Every maker has problems with some of the bikes. In other words no bike is going be warranty safe. I put over 41,000 miles on my Ultra in 3 years, yes I have had it for 4 years but I wasn't able to ride due to sickness and responsibilities. It has the original cam chain/primary chain tensionsers (sp). I inspected them at 30,000 miles which is in the service manual. I changed cams at the same time to cut labor. Cam basket had to be removed to check them.
Proper maintenance is really important on any bike and I will also say it is very important on a HD. I have several friends with HD's and they have way more miles on theirs than I and they also have had little problems. The only problem I have encountered is the compensator sprocket went out at 32,000. I added the SE compensator (should have came on the bike from the factory) It will reduce stater drag and improve the stator performance.
The Victory freedom engines is no doubt better built. That is 1 of the reasons why I got my XC
I enjoyed the video and was informative. I didn't know how the starter is on Victory bikes until I watched the video. HD's rarely have a problem with their stators. You have to look at how many is on the road as compared to how many actually had a stator problem.
Personally speaking I feel Victory has done a better job incorporating how the bike is designed and built.
Now if they would cut the prices on their on their accessories so that normal folks can afford them.

nope..nothing is safe and nothing is perfect..(a general theory i also apply to women as well...).i can only speak about what i know personally and have...this said, i really "worked" this bike purchase...between a RG a Yam (thought about bmw for a minute or two) and ad GW...getting past the GW was hard...took a while (had to save up anyway) and obviously came to the XC...for the whole package...which included the ride/position, engine / belt changes...this was based on my experience and common sense only as i am not a wrench that enjoys digging into the machine...i want to ride it.

i have high hopes for the reliability of the vic...and can only hope it meets the confidence i have in my VTX...so far so good at 6k...

I'm still digging my VTX to. So much available for it and the prices are reasonable for accessories.

I am glad to see some of the Vendors taking notice to the Victory bikes. Maybe things will improve for us XC guys/gals

I bet it did take a while to get past the GW, it isn't nothing nice.
60 to 80 mph roll on in 5th gear in 2.8 seconds. That is going to be hard to beat.

Still like my XC took a 150 mile ride today on it. It is starting to loosen up some. Still think the fuel gauge sucks though.
