In May, I had an appointment at one of the top Vic shops in the country for a cam install and dyno tune. Prior to that visit I had a PCV, timing wheel, Lloydz fitler, 1/4 turn throttle already installed. I'm running Tri-oval exhaust as well.

I decided to eliminate the "piggyback" system, so I had the PCV and timing wheel removed and went with the Maximus tuner. I was aware that the only real advantage was to eliminate items that could potentially fail in the long run.

My visit went fairly well. According to the dyno results, there was an increase in the hp by 15-20 and the torque remained the same.

However, once I got it home and started riding it, there was now a ton of popping on deceleration. Of course all of the guys I ride with are like "WTF".

I tried working with the owner of the shop to try and eliminate this popping with some of the settings in the Maximus, The strategy was adding timing on both cylinders in increments of 5 until it went away. I tried 3 times so was basically at +15 from my tune. This seemed like a "bandaid" to me and was incredibly frustrating since I spent a small fortune on this trip.

After seeing someone else that had a very similar situation and experience post on other social media sites, I decided to give 808Motoworx a call. Ryan R. was very knowledgeable and seemed to understand my situation perfectly.I made the decision to have him tune my XC remotely.

I just spent this past weekend working with Ryan remotely tuning my 2014 XC. This was well worth the $$$ spent. My XC no longer has popping on deceleration, it doesn't lag when you launch it, and has tons of power in every gear. I'm very satisfied with the results. I only wish I had known about this service and the results I would get a few months earlier.

If you're on the fence about this, don't hesitate as you will not be disappointed.

Add 801MotoWorx to the small list of the proficient and reliable Victory shops in the country!

What sort of changes to thetune were needed to stop the decel popping?

I don't know. 801motoworx did not modify the existing tune, they started from scratch. It would definitely be interesting to see an "A to B" comparison.

They send you wide band O2 sensors, a data logging device, and a laptop. You hook it up to your bike and ride while it logs the data. The data is evaluated and changes are made to the map. Rinse and repeat.

Google search "Maximus Remote Tune With 801 MotoWorx" for much more detailed info. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to provide a link to the numerous threads on the other 3 letter forum.

Note, that I am in no way affiliated with them, but I'm a very happy customer. Like I said, I had my XC dyno tuned by one of the top Vic Shops in the country and was very disappointed in my experience.

My understanding is they send you a laptop with the software installed. They guide you through the tune. Then you send them the laptop back.

I also recently finished a remote tune with 801 Motoworx and am extremely happy with the results. The man knows his stuff.

He sends you laptop. has you make 4 or 5 runs down the road. Then you send him info. He sends you back a map has you make more runs. You send him info. He sends you another map. Once you have it tuned you send him back the laptop.

By the way you never get rid of the popping. Vic has a cheap ECM and no getting around it. Yes you can tune out a lot of it but not all of it

Why are you parroting what I wrote above? You haven't had it done, I have.

My popping is virtually eliminated. In my 1 hour ride yesterday, there was 1 pop. Prior to my remote tune by 801MotoWorx, I would have had popping that sounded like a machine gun every time I closed the throttle. The popping is basically gone.

I believe the VOG issue is now resolved. I can post a link to Victory Motorcycles: Motorcycle Forums and the links are available now. I believe it's because both sites are owned by the same group whereas before they were competitors.
