Spam doesn't seem bad here at all. Now if you wanna see spam go over to the other site.

I read the ads that I want to read and I skip the rest... am I missing something?
He's talking about people who make a post or two to the New Member section that are gibberish, but provide a mess of links to crap they want to sell. If they had to pay a few bucks to post here, they wouldn't.

Admins and mods seem to have spam well under control. I haven't seen anything worth reporting in a couple months.

While I've often considered purchasing a lifetime membership...that's gas money for a good ride. If I gotta choose between membership to an internet forum for riding...I'm going riding. :D

And members. When I first looked around for a victory forum I definitely wouldn't have joined if it was pay. I wont pay for my porno why would I pay for this? Now thats the "me looking around" attitude. One day I'd like to contribute to the forum financially, because now I know I like it.

Pay only just wouldn't get the numbers in the first place. Plus, what spam? I think I have caught maybe 1 or 2 bullshit things...if that. None in awhile.

I ran across one of those BS posts this morning and they appear fairly regularly. I always report them because I don't want to find out where to illegally download this or that movie. My suggestion would be a nominal fee of something like $.99 for a trial membership and the fee would be applied to your membership when you decided to become a full member.

Of the 11 posts so far 4 are by "free" members, you can add me as number 5 with this post. You would certainly be free to read through less posts.
I never join any forum where I have to pay. It is a matter of principle for me. The members more or less create forum content and paying to do so strikes me the same way as buying and wearing a t-shirt that advertises some business. Sorry but I won't pay for that either.

I understand your position oldman. I'm absolutely not trying to down our free members here. We have many great members on this forum paying and nonpaying. In the end I really was just bitching.

So far I have provided 611 posts free of charge for the content and, as usual, I don't try to claim copyrights on my posts although every one of them could be copyrighted. The actual value of those copyrights is questionable on my posts but it does not change the rights of people who make posts. Every one of them owns every post that they make and they can enforce those rights if they wish to do so. Undoubtedly they would not be very welcome in most places if they treated every one of their posts as golden.

This site is not bad for spam. Come accross it now and again but the user name and thread title usually make it pretty obvious it's spam. Easy to ignore.

That $1.25 a month is a real burden. Most forums like this one are privately owned for profit and I know I've saved a lot more than $1.25 a month using the advice I've received here. Pay/don't pay boo hoo who cares. Advice as in posts are free not to give also so the forum would stop.

This forum absolutely has a value and I personally have no hesitation in paying for the privilege of using it. For myself. I wouldn't feel right using this forum without paying. Others may not feel this way and fortunately for them the developers choose to allow for free access. I think it's worth mentioning as vindex has that this forum has saved me quite a lot of money. It also provides a place to BS with good people who share a common interest. I call that priceless.

Actually, this is a very expensive forum. Before I came here I never heard of PCV, AT, Lloyds, WD, modular apes, etc etc etc. While the cost of joining was small, the cost of all the **** I learned of here and later bought (out of necesity) is frightening. cheers
