I wonder why these aftermarket windshield makers don't make a pattern of the braces and/or brackets to put on their windshield to block out the unsightly braces and brackets...so that it looks like the OEM windshield.

Or better yet..how about a plastic/rubberized "gasket" that is the same shape as the brackets with a little overlap that could be used over and over.

Just a thought. I wonder if anyone on here has gone to a window tinter to see if they reproduce the effect of the OEM windshield?

Thinking out loud...does anyone hear me?

Arkiebiker, you gave me a great idea. Go to michaels and get a sheet of the black closed cell foam for crafts and cut your own gasket. It will cost like 68 cents.

Arkie,
I brought my windshield brackets to a decal specialist, he put them on a copy machine, took the copy and loaded it into his computer, enlarged it 1/4" all around and then printed out black decals. Not as good as OEM, but a 1000xs better than seeing inside of bracket

Good ideas...I hope to find something out this week after visiting a couple of window tinting places and some vinyl graphic places.

I wonder about masking and painting the inside of the shield! It would be simple, but not as good as the factory decal. Anyone try this?

I just sprayed mine with Plexi-Dip. It's a rubberized spray paint that can be removed if you change your mind. Check it out on youtube. I tested it on another shield & it works great.

I went to my local sign store and they photocopied the decal and then printed me one out...and mounted it.

I think it turned out EXTREMELY well!!!!

Nice! if you feel like experimenting, I'm sure your sign guy has multi colors to choose from, including chrome. Just figured you might want to spend more money.:D
