Today the girlfriend and I road down to Moms for their open house at their HUGE new store...did I say HUGE!!! The Pats could play a game in their bike warehouse and that is just one part of the building.

After we test road a few bikes, I began to wonder around the new space and came on their used bike room...I should say cavern, its filled with hundreds of bikes, every year make and model- amazing!!!
As I wondered back toward the rear I came on a Vision with some amazing pipes, the Moms tech Matt was talking to the new owner who was picking up the bike today. The bike got cams, controller, exhaust and after speaking with the new owner the gears in my head began to turn. He said the cams, exhaust, controller, reflash....made a huge difference over stock, that the bike came alive.

Matt and I talked for 15-20 minutes and I asked what would it cost to have this done to my XC, its bone stock. He said lets go back and I can work up the exact numbers which he did, then I asked how soon could it be done...to which he said...maybe next Saturday, we have everything in stock, just your ecm has to be sent to Lloyds and he re-flashes it and this is the only X factory. Since it was an open house they gave me almost 240 in parts discounts and my keys were handed over to Matt.

The story gets better, my friend arrived at the open house with his Suzuki Bandit 1200s equipped with a Hannigan sidecar. I had only been in a sidecar 12 years ago and still remember the fun factor, the grin on my face...ear to ear after being taken for a ride and the owner had his Hannigan FJ1200 sliding into turns..at 100+ mph.

The next 60 miles were nothing short of a blast, just like sitting in a go-cart doing 75-80...I took a vid and as soon as I upload it, the link will be posted for others to enjoy.

I forgot to mention my girlfriend who has only been riding for 8 months had the pleasure of riding a 2012 Victory Vegas 8 ball. She had a grin ear to ear when the helmet came off. Her current, first and only bike thus so far is an 02 Honda Shadow 600....think for a moment going from 30 horsepower to about 85 and 40 ft/lbs to over 100...kind of like drinking water vs doing a shot of 101 Wild turkeyl...its got some kick in the azz. I am very proud of how well she handled the bike...looks like I may start looking for a used vegas 8 ball in the not so distant future for her as she graduates into a real bike.

Thats it for now...the vid link will be posted as soon as I can get it downloaded..

Great post! thumb up

I've heard really good thing's about Matt too. Kyle Crandall did the install and Dyno-tune on my XC and it certainly WAKES UP the freedom motor. :D

We're heading up to their new shop tomorrow morning!

They suggested the d&d slip on's, another tech let me listen to his 2012 ness xc and they sounded bad azz. I asked if there were any other pipes even if they didnt have them in stock and it may take another week or two to get.. and Matt said Bassani has a 2-1 but the difference in net gain of maybe 2-3 rwhp isnt worth the cost difference of a about 3x more then the d&d's

You're absolutely gonna love it!! What kind of exhaust are you doing??

I keep reading posts about Moms but I have no idea of who they are or where they are. What's their full name and web site? I'd like to check them out. From all the deciduous trees in the videos, it appears they are in the eastern US. Inquiring minds want to know.

MOM's is a great place and as You said the new place is huge.
After all they are the #1 Victory Dealer and need all the room
for all the HDs traded in.
Matt Is great. He takes the time to listen and talk to you.
He's on LLoyds list of Mechanics too.
He did my cams last week.
The caned map is a little fat, so I dropped mine off at the
dyno yesterday. I'll pick it up when the rain stops,
no need to to get soaked ya know.
I've got the Bassani's so I'll post the numbers when I get them.

I've bought two bikes form MOM South and Matt (service tech) is the man. He just installed vm1 cams, vfc 3, and I sent out the computer to lloydz a couple weeks ago. Matt, who is lloydz certified, can have your bike setup in no time. Just figure 3 weeks go turn-around time from when you ship to get your computer back from lloyd though.

That"s my friend Leck's new bike. I had the chance to ride it last sunday and all I can say is that bike screws. I also noticed that it runs smoother over my JP.

Still waiting for the bike...I called today to get an update and got a rather short answer..."it will be done when its done" someone answering the phone on their end needs some customer service skills. Pretty shitty if you ask me...considering I am the one spending around $2400

That would be frustrating. $2400? Aren't cams $500 or so, exhausts maybe another $500, only 4 hours or so to install cams (at least that's how long it took my buddy to install mine in his garage). Or have parts gone up? Maybe some head work?

If there is a delay on the Lloydz controller, maybe a PC-V with auto tune?

I don't know what your travel time to M.o.M's is, but I suggest you make a face to face visit with them. The phone communication doesn't work IMHO. Best of luck with the outcome. :)

d&d slip ons
lloydz iav
fuel controller
lloyds cam
performance filter
gasket kit
computer reflash

This is the work being done...when I went to the open house with my girlfriend it was just to spend a day with some good people. I had no plans of having any work. It was when i walked in to their gigantic used bike space and heard the vision being run that I walked over...talked with the new bike owner and tech (I didnt know he was matt who is the one that does all the performance at the dealership). This when i started to ask questions and he spent the time with me that I decided to have the work done.

I can say that the person who answered the phone was not matt, hopefully they were just having a bad day which can happen....and were just short with me and not others.

Document the dates, times, and names of everyone you spoke with at the dealer about the maintenance and be prepared to present the info when your bike is complete. If they missed a completion date without contacting you to say it was going to take longer they violated a verbal contract and should give you a discount. The longer they miss the deadline (first deadline and any deadlines set afterwards) the larger your discount should be. I would start with 10% off and add 1% for every day past the agreed completion date.

They've got to know that customers can only take so much before they start slinging fecal matter into the oscillating vanes...

Seems like as the reputation of builders grows, the more egotistical they become. And that's not just limited to Victory engine builders.

I always wait until I have the product in hand before I give praise. Seems like early praise and compliments always bite me in the ass
