WOW and AWESOME came to mind as I roared out of my driveway on my 2010 Victory XC - this after I completed installation of the mufflers that were re-worked by Jim (nascar6). I have owned many bikes and spent many dollars on aftermarket improvements for either looks, sound and/or performance, and I must write here that these modified mufflers have exceeded my expectations for sound and performance (yes, seat of the pants and not dyno, but years of riding and modifying bikes counts for something, no?). This machine finally has the visceral feel I was craving for when I twist the throttle, all without being an annoyingly loud machine when I first start it up in the early morning hours.

Besides being a relatively low cost improvement, appearance is stock looking and Jim is a stand up guy to deal with. From the day I shipped them to the day I got them back took less than a week (I'm only a UPS day away from him).

As far as particulars, this bike was purchased as a factory Stage 1 - now it has the nascar6 muffler mod, a K&N 1500 filter, removed airseal and disconnected O2 sensors. Have only taken a short ride but noticed no popping on decel. Big ride planned through the Tn/Nc/Ga mountains Memorial Day weekend - can't wait!!

Dumb question--but what exactly is a K&N 1500 filter?? Is it the filter that goes in a 1500 Wing??
Thanks

The "1500" refers to the K&N model PL1500 filter that is used on other Victory models with the V92C motor. My understanding is that K&N doesn't offer a filter for the XC model yet so folks were ordering the PL1500 and modifying it to fit the XC. A little "nip and tuck", it can work just fine.

Regards.

Thanks for the info, may just do that. Would be nice if K&N make one for the Cross bikes.

I agree this mod sounds great. I had mine done by Jim a few weeks ago. I went from stock to this mod. I do get poping on decel and if I rip through the gears I get a crack at times. I have had no remaping and was told I do not need it. I have ordered a IAV from lloyds and it should be here tomorrow so I am hoping it will minimize the pop. I disconnected the o2 sensors but haven't taken off the strip yet. I asked my dealer about the pop and crack and they said I should get the IAV and a VFC to improve the performance. I just don't want to spend the $$, that's why I did the mod in the first place. With that said I really do like the sound and the bike feels much more unrestricted. Jim did a great job.

Pull the airbox weather strip and you'd never get the smile off your face! These X-bikes need to breathe!!

Not sure about the Atom Bombs, but the video I saw on youtube on the nascar6 was about the best sounding I have ever heard on a bike--- except for Brothers exhaust on a Valkyrie-- but that is a different animal altogether.

BTW-- I sent an email and it came back undeliverable. He may have everybody not in the address book blocked.
