I wish some would open up here.

The last 3 years we lost 4 dealers. The closest to me is now 90 miles away!

Mine is also 90 miles away but I do like it that way. It cuts down on impulse buying (which I am bad about) and gives me a good chance for a ride.
By using the 4 lane it is 90 miles but by taking the back roads it's close to 120 miles.
My Harley dealer is 120 miles 1 way.
Once a month a few of us guys takes a day to go to different dealerships. We ride different bikes. Mostly HD's or Honda's.

I look for reasons to ride on the weekend with my friends. They work but I am retired. I am also the road captain for the ALR and VFWR this gives us a good reason to hang out and go for a ride.

I ride 30 miles to my dealer, which is not the closest to me. There are two others who are closer, but a great buying experience combined with great service keeps me going the extra miles. And as dd mentioned, there are a few good reasons not to have the dealership across the street from your house. :)

Here is the bad thing. I have a dealer less than 5 miles from my home. The owner is the biggest jackwagon in the World!! He lost the sale of Porti and excessive amount of accessory purchases ;)because of his attitude when I was shopping for my bike.

A few months ago I went to the Fuel it Tour at his place. He came up to me shook my hand we talked a while. So I decided to start bringing my business to him.

Well his ugly other side reared its head and you only get 2 strikes with me.

If my bike broke down in front of his shop I would tow it 90 miles to SRVT before giving him my business!

There is a HD dealer in Madison, AL. I feel the same way about.
They have good festivities during the summer months that I go to but I would not spend 1 dime there.

Well, in my case, the two dealers who are closer to me never got a chance to meet me. I always believe in giving everyone an equal chance, but then again, nobody made me feel at home in a dealership until I walked into Cycle Dragon. I wish they were jerks, or at least not as nice as they are, so I could've given a chance to my other local dealers and meet those folks too. :D

And they are the local Harley dealer! Took my Vision in for some minor work. The first Victory that had seen. They now have about 7 bikes on the showroom floor and a few bolt-ons too.

Check them out.

I've had good experiences with Delta Power Sports in Lathrop, CA (south of Stockton in northern California). Aaron has always been quick to respond and willing to work with me to make sure things get done. Dealership has been in place for 2 or 3 years and continues to grow. Here's to hoping the trend continues.

Chaparall has no parts in stock. I personally wouldn't buy a bike from them, but I do like there huge selection of clothing. I bought my cr from brea. Temecula has filters and such but I was in there a couple weeks ago to get drain plug washers and the handsomely chested girl took twenty minutes to find the right ones on the computer! Brea or cycle dragon is the best around here for me.
